I am not aware of any PHC meeting next week. I just received the town hall meeting invite today
That’s assuming all the PHCs are cut. We don’t know who or how many, all we have is the article from last year saying 250 more cuts
They will still do 60 day notice and severance. A precedent has been established and they face a lawsuit if they don't offer the same. It sounds like way more than 250 being cut. Cut all PHCs, coaches and most of CHEs and we are over 300. Someone else said nurses also being axed. That's a lot of layoffs
If more than 250 full-time employees are being laid off, or if 25 or more full-time employees are being laid off and this constitutes 33% of all workers at the site, a company must file a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the state's Department of Labor 90 days prior to the layoffs.
The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) was enacted on August 4, 1988 and became effective on February 4, 1989.
General Provisions
WARN offers protection to workers, their families and communities by requiring employers to provide notice 60 days in advance of covered plant closings and covered mass layoffs. This notice must be provided to either affected workers or their representatives (e.g., a labor union); to the State dislocated worker unit; and to the appropriate unit of local government.
Employer Coverage
In general, employers are covered by WARN if they have 100 or more employees, not counting employees who have worked less than 6 months in the last 12 months and not counting employees who work an average of less than 20 hours a week. Private, for-profit employers and private, nonprofit employers are covered, as are public and quasi-public entities which operate in a commercial context and are separately organized from the regular government. Regular Federal, State, and local government entities which provide public services are not covered.
Employee Coverage
Employees entitled to notice under WARN include hourly and salaried workers, as well as managerial and supervisory employees. Business partners are not entitled to notice.
What Triggers Notice
Mass Layoff: A covered employer must give notice if there is to be a mass layoff which does not result from a plant closing, but which will result in an employment loss at the employment site during any 30-day period for 500 or more employees, or for 50-499 employees if they make up at least 33% of the employer's active workforce. Again, this does not count employees who have worked less than 6 months in the last 12 months or employees who work an average of less than 20 hours a week for that employer. These latter groups, however, are entitled to notice
Humana may not be doing a mass layoff like last time, and if 50 people laid off doesn’t trigger the WARN rule, so there may not be 60 day notice, I don’t think even 250 triggers it as massive....
The 250 came from a Humana statement to press. The WARN rule has a requirement of 50.
A prior thread said it’s going to be RNs, another post said everyone.....another said PHCs...the 250 number came from the WARN ruling for RIFs, no one knows anything right now, or when, different people have posted different things....stressful, but may not be what you assume?
True, poster below.
It wouldn't be confidential if the entire program is being shut down or if all the PHCs are being let go
@R9TlOgb Those numbers are wrong. Less than 20 PHC coaches, don't know about the rest. maybe 300 PHCs
@R9TlOgb-nra Should be better but it isn't.
It will be a confidential meeting for layoffs. They will probably cancel the town hall
I feel bad for all of us but also the members, they have had so many different PHCs calling them, it's poor service. So many have complained. How embarrassing Humana. This company should be better than this.
Oh, that would s---, an all PHC and all told laid off? I’m hoping they’re just doing a regular town hall update
Maybe that’s when PHCs will find out about what’s happening
There is an all PHC call next week
They always do them with confidential email meeting though, not those meetings.
Next week all associates or all phc?
Wondering if the layoffs will happen during the all associate call next Wednesday
Does anyone know how many fcms teams are left
And down to 13 HCMSS coaches.
Actually, there are closer to 160 hcmss in hccp hah
Thanks that does give us a general idea.
OP, even if not 100% updated, I appreciate you taking the time that look that up and post!
The more info the better - thanks!
This info was pulled directly from the e-phonebook. Not sure how often it’s updated.
I was told by my CHE friend, there are only 36 left. 18 on each team. One team I think is HCCP and the other SNP.
362 PHC’s snd 29 coaches - thats one coach for every 12.5 associates. Is that correct? It is excessive.
