It's called native advertising. An ad in an article format. Problem is, its so obvious. Oracle and Bob Evans have a 20th century mindset. They have no idea how informed people have become as a result of the internet. These people did everything before the internet became a thing!!!

Looks like LE has managed to attract a bunch of greedy a--holes willing to do what ever he wants, no matter how deranged. Needless to say, he hasn’t attracted many good execs and those that joined didn’t stay long. All of which goes a long way to explaining why oracle is dying while other tech companies are flourishing.

While were applauding the top 3 or 4 execs, let’s not forget their very important “generals” out in the organization ...they couldn’t get away with it if they didn’t have useful field generals to carry out and propagate their toxic culture and methods. The heads of tech and apps and service all are well compensated complicit leaders.

To cheer the top and leave out these folks is a mistake. They deserve credit too. Their pay is top dollar too. The word is they make so much money they’ll do anything they’re told and come up with their own schemes. They’re some kind of hybrid mix between the rah rah trumpians, the north Korean leaders under KIM and the Germain army from the 30’s. It’s truly like nothing you see in everyday normal companies. Very strange bunch indeed.

Oracle has the best cloud business ever, in fact we have the only cloud business on planet earth and in the whole universe. No one else can come close, because I said so, because it’s fake news. The haters hate us for being so unbelievably successful, and paying the 3 stooges hundreds of millions of dollars each and every year. That proved how successful we are. The more we pay them the more successful we are. Nobody else matters, so we don’t pay them anything. Only the people at the top add value, everybody else are just hanger ons. So there we’re the best, we’re the only ones!

@QPaV2TV-2piw:

exactly.

And our customers will do the test for oracle again and again.

Will 18c be autonomous enough for automatically open bugs with oracle (un)support ?

Article should be labeled "paid advertisement from your sponsor: Oracle"

2 - The autonomous stuff is from the db tuning packs and segment advisors. The optimize will kill a query and retry if it doesn't run according to plan. I don't know if you would call those machine learning. Could definitely be autonomous if it can autocorrect but it comes with a lot of risk if it's not well tested. It will probably be several years before something like that is widely deployed.

Hope oracle dev could rename oracle 12.2 to oracle 18 in their source code without introducing new bugs ...

Sorry again, last try:

Let's go with facts regarding the 10 reasons listed in this article:

  1. Amazon, Microsoft, google, IBM, Salesforce and even Alibaba are leading, oracle is behind all of them on the IaaS and PaaS, see https://www.marketwatch.com/story/amazon-rules-the-public-cloud-but-google-microsoft-alibaba-are-growing-faster-2017-12-20

  2. oracle autonomous database is simply an oracle db 12.2, it is autonomous only in public and private cloud ( so lazy and unskilled people from pdit don't have to mess up the oracle cloud). Most of the stuff ( so called machine learning ) was already implemented with previous releases. So it is pure marketing. Before OOW 2017, autonomous DB did not exist.

  3. BYOL: let's see how it goes but I'm not impressed with this stuff, more a marketing idea

  4. OCM (cloud machines): my experience with oracle cst is that no cst is interested

  5. AWS Redshift, again oracle rethoric

  6. SaaS is booming: this comes from the perverted mh, so I don't believe what he says

  7. let's review this in 6 months next year

  8. oracle vs. Salesforce, hmm, larry l. is trying to convince that oracle is out performing aws, now salesforce ? who's next: alibaba ? ... haha ...

  9. oracle is revamping all their products, using ADF. Serously, common !!! stop make me laughing that way !!! Except oracle, who is using ADF ?

  10. Larry E. visionary success: he did had hallucinations, not visions when talking about cloud being idiot and stupid, he completely missed that opportunity. He then went to the cloud after seeing the competitors were successful. I don't call it vision, I call it lack of vision.

We need to carefully read everything those kinds of article, and be ready to argument.

BTW, oracle stock is currently at 47.28. The 3 stooges will have to lie much more to convince stock market.

Also, any people from oracle, hr, managers (haha, managers, masters of excel sheets ...) , oracle s?ckers, please come with technical arguments, not "old news" or "fake news", we know how stupid you are.

Cheers.

In reversal of the IBM slogan, probably time for companies to seriously consider firing CIOs who buy oracle stuff, they’re not serving their employers best interests. Sad but true!

Much of Forbes is actually pay to play, advterising disguised as a news article. The article says Oracle is strong in Cloud, but keeps talking about on prem technology. By the way, “hybrid” is utter BS marketing from IBM, Oracle, and other older vendors. There are new Cloud native apps and old on prem crap that nobody is buying anymore. “hybrid” is the term used by IT infrastructure managers that are about to lose their jobs. As far as the Oracle Cloud Machine goes, why would anyone want to have an on prem version of Oracle’s lousy gen 1 Cloud?

I laughed out loud. I bet SM and TK think that ADF is some hot new cloud technology...

Oh... good old Bob Evans. I know he isn’t an O employee anymore, but his “pieces” on Forbes’ website have always reminded me of this guy:

http://www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com

Basically, don’t trust anything Forbes “prints” - they have completely sold their name and platform to corporate marketers.
