Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Ouch! This site is getting ugly... I did get RIFd and heyyyy here I am. Just curious bc I recd an unexpected additional deposit recently. Thought I would check here to see if this is going on with anyone else. Carry on darlings! Wishing you all the best!

Perhaps people are being rude because they’re tired of dishonesty and this pseudo “transparency”. We are all here to do a good job until they tell us there is no more job to do but don’t be in denial, pay attention to what’s going on because it’s not looking too great, and for god’s sake, stop drinking the Kool Aid.

I have not received this bonus and I am stressed about the upcoming layoff. However, I am thankful and grateful that poster received hers and it shall make the upcoming holiday season brighter. Thank you for posting. I appreciate your gratefulness for the little things and it made me smile. Merry Christmas to you and I do hope you and your family have a beautiful and joyous holiday. I know I will because, I know its fun to have a little extra money but money itself does not make a holiday. Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched. Just because they are saying that people will get this lump sum, doesn’t mean it will actually happen. Who knows what will happen between now and end of January and who will be left to receive this lump sum disguised as a way of keeping our salaries low!

And to the corporate trolls who keep saying “you aren’t entitled to anything”. Scr@w you. I am entitled to be treated like the valuable, hard working, honest employee/human being that I am. I struggle payceck to paycheck while the corporate execs set themselves up for millions off our hard work. I will take this hard earned pseudo raise, but I will not grovel at their feet about it.

Don’t be “grateful”, that’s ridiculous. It’s money you’ve earned and because Humana has such a crappy process behind evaluations and raises, they’ve been inconsistent and unfair. Plus, no raises in the near future so this isn’t some great gift, it’s because they’re getting called out on lack of appropriate raises. Except CEO’s, they’re splitting up the billion and doubling their salaries.

I am thankful for the extra money and realize I am never GUARANTEED a raise. I will take what I can.. I am not ENTITLED to anything.

I just don’t think they were right about a Jan 18 layoff. It would be cruel to advise associates of a lump sum and then take it away like that.

REmember the thread awhile back of layoffs being done on January 18, to not get the bonus coming on the 19th??? This thread is relevant....if you didn’t get a bonus, does that mean you’re targeted for the next layoff???

But some posts have been helpful - agreed, not this one - which is why this site is so active with HAH associates.

Although I can see why some people may be offended by the discussion about the bonus. The thread is clearly titled Thank You and by reading the very first post anyone could see the direction of the thread. If you can't handle that don't read it. There is another thread related to Market Point associates. It doesn't apply to me and I have no information for them so I didn't read it. Maybe people just want to be offended and have a voice... Who cares. Most of the posts here tell us nothing and most of the rest tell untruths. Just like this one.

Layoff information please.

You have a point about Us Rifed staff still returning to a site after we have been laid off but it speaks volume that you are here too coming to a site to gain information on a potential lay off. Maybe it shows that you don't have such a great relationship with your supervisor or trust in a company that you come here to get second hand information about the potential of being laid off. It doesn't make any sense to speak of a lump sum and a happy holidays to strangers. That should be directed to her leader. FYI... I am not bitter about being laid off either. Also the layoff can be interrupted many different ways...those that have been and those that might but not bragging on a lump sum payment it just doesn't fit. For the person that said they liked the idea of knowing that information it might be a reason you were laid off the new process has been on Hi and a buzz site for more than 4 months now so again that wasn't revelant

While ever Is getting upset about what everyone else is posting, all I want to know are details about next RIF.

Do I really work with you miserable, bitter, rude people? I read your obnoxious posts and wonder if any of you are in my team? My spouse was laid off from Humana but I am still there so I see both sides. The big difference between y'all and my spouse...ugly bitterness! My spouse is not bitter, she doesn't ask why I'm still employed and she is not! She doesn't b--ch that I am getting a one time only and she is not. We will struggle immensely on one salary so don't give me crap about me being employed. What the heck is wrong with you mean spirited rude people? You have been laid off, why are you still in here? This is for information about potential layoffs. You have been RIFd so move on. Why do you need to know about future layoffs? Posting about one time onlys is relevant to those of us who are still here. We are the demographic for this site. Not those of you already let go. You are only here to be bitter. I feel for all who have been let go but it's not our fault you were laid off. Don't come on here and take your bad luck out on us! The one time only screws our salaries over a bit but we were never guaranteed a raise. I have had jobs where raises were put on hold for everyone but upper management. Deal with it, its life!

So, posters that were laid off, are you saying you weren’t on this site before you were laid off? We are all on it for the same reason, and to those that got bonuses, it’s not bragging, it’s confusing, because of the upcoming layoffs, and why it’s happening, and is everyone getting it, or some not and why? So, your theory is if you still have a job, you’re use is done, stay off the site, since only those laid off are the appropriate ones to use it to grouse and complain? We are all looking for the same answers. Why. What’s next. Finances aren’t being celebrated, but as a response to postings....someone said they never got raises, someone said they did every year. How is that celebration? I think you’re misreading, and your anger really needs to be checked

@QDR51mQ-1ssu I have 3124 reasons to say thank you. I also have anxieties about my future and concerns about whats happening. Maybe you are on the wrong site, maybe once people have been laid off they have no more reason to wonder whats happening at Humana or be concerned about the rumor and gossip around layoffs. Getting a bonus like this says the company is not in dire financial straights and is an indication that maybe things are changing. It is relevant.

Thank you below posters. I was also wondering why someone would come on a layoff site to announce the company gave them money, knowing this is a layoff site and impacted associates are using this site regularly.

You should have posted that info on a buzz site not a lay off site. Seek your soul and all others that have responded positively that the person is in the right forum. Crazy and lack of class. Go review Humana values before posting something like that again.

Really, poster? Many of us all have financial burdens. The extra money is great to help keep additional health care in place for my dying patent, where I can’t be or do, since I’m working to help pay the bills of care needed. I don’t care if it’s the holiday season, a day is a day. I am sorry for those laid off, I’d assume many of us are next, it doesn’t change the fact I still have a job to do. Wonderful windfall at the holiday season? Why do you even assume That I celebrate or care about the holiday season? Yes, for now I have job security. I’m not gloating, I think it is a horrible situation for this to be going on and those RIF not part of it since they worked the whole year. I hope you find a job. Please stop your judgement of me and your assumptions that I have a windfall at the holiday season. I hope your servrance helps cover you until you find a job so you don’t have to be homeless.

congratulations on your wonderful windfall at the holiday season. I was laid off last month and still don't have job security. I won't have much severance either. My entire family will suffer because I am the only breadwinner. I would gladly have forgone a pay bonus/raise/whatever you are calling it to still have a job. I would even take a pay cut to stay employed. Our family is stressed out and will be homeless if I don't get something within another month. I worked extremely hard my entire life to get a good education in which I paid for myself and I work hard at this job everyday. I am glad your holiday season will be better than the 1300 of us.

I’m not sure most people experience, but my first year I got 3%, second year 5%, third year 3% , and for the bonus 2%. I keep hearing that those at higher scale salaries would be let go, all the rumors, and wonder If next month we’ll have more....but remember the thread of the January layoff being around the 18th so they wouldn’t have to pay the bonus? I guess that one is blown out of the water, if we’re all getting them...

While I am hearing most got 3%, the humana math In calculating it depending when you got your performance incentive this year, the pro rating....very confusing, but I’m glad there was something and I still am employed.....I am sorry those laid off are hearing all the “great things”, it’s a bit off...like people are getting bonuses, so why were we laid off, if the company is trying to save money?

Grow the heck up Humana doesn’t owe you anything, they hire you in at what they think you are worth. I think it was nice to see someone one here who is not full of hate and venom. I suggest some of you find other employment, because I guarantee your attitude is showing to your team and coach.

Wow. Why would anyone visit a layoff site to post to celebrate their finances? I see laid off people visiting and commenting, asking questions, tying up loose ends, etc., on here all the time.

If an impacted person comes on here to ask for rehire stories, etc., it s---s that they are going to get an eyeful of someone's brag post about their money.

@QDR51mQ-sdj Take your misery and go work someplace else. Some of us are grateful that we have a job and also grateful that we got a lump sum. There is nothing wrong with a little gratitude, that doesn't divorce us from reality. There are many companies out there who would have used the recent layoff's as proof that they couldn't make ANY extra payments this year. There are companies who make truckloads of cash and still don't want to give raises. As to your worth. Your worth is what people will pay.

There is a difference between constant outrage and observing the malice required to post one’s celebratory financial news on a site where many laid off associates still visit.

Not everyone is bitter about the company and so condemning of every move they make. Companies lay people off, make changes to compensation policy, and CEOs make a lot of money. Welcome to reality. You don’t have to like it but the constant outrage coupled with so many incorrect statements or interpretations of things doesn’t make anything better or different.
