SC Aria headcount is 12066 as of 9/28.

KB is SVP for WWOps. Aria count today is 1033. KB reports to SC.

New count for SC is 11918.

KB has 909. So 124 lost in WWOPS.

a> Someone record these town hall meetings or any voice recordings ..I'm curious to see if they will use the same inhuman method they used in the 9/1 layoffs

These all-hands were scripted for the survivors.

"Take care of each other" they say. But what about those who were let go?

Well I got my notice on 9/28. I was in CGBU Global Ops. I had actually been training my replacement in India. I kept asking if that wasn’t the case and I was assured that was not happening! Oh well I am convinced that things will be better without the big red O. I wish them well.

I heard the 9/28 was WW and affected a good percentage of employees. Some good people , and some low contributes are still around, all levels. Few managers and no directors affected, around 100 people cut. Told to look and ask around and you see the profile/common denominator of the great majority of those affected by the layoff.

KB's speech was the usual. He acknowledged the layoffs. Told people to support each other. Said that the layoffs were needed because of the lower volume of on-prem demand. Said that we would need to work more to cover all those tasks now unsupported because of the layoffs.

Nope. No reassurances that it's over.

"KB has scheduled a Webex town hall today and will try to reassure the survivors that the worst is over."

I seriously doubt that they were told that the "worst is over"

People keep saying this. I think this only applies to being hired back at Oracle. Why would anyone go back to Oracle? I don't think there's any way they can enforce it if you take a job someplace else!

If you get severance and are rehired within 6 months, you may need to repay some or all of it. So keep that in mind. Your prior service still counts for calculating vacation and 401k vesting.

KB has scheduled a Webex town hall today and will try to reassure the survivors that the worst is over. Some of the wrong people were RIFd yesterday and a lot of low contributers are still around. The douche left the decisions to his VPs and directors and they looked after their own survival and their friends.

Unlike 9/1, the WWOPS RIF didn't hit any directors and there's some dead weight among them. The org is now more top heavy but don't expect them to care.

Looks like the problem will take care of itself eventually then.

Our gratitude to those who leaked today's RIF. It was bad but some of us were prepared thanks to you!

Don't knwo if WWOPS is done but there's a rumor of RIFs for other orgs after OOW.

That was my understanding too but the discussions I had with those who were RIFd seem to indicate that they're not going to be unofficially onboard for two months. Today is their last day.

When cut, there were just about zero "choices" except to drop part of some health coverage if continuing with COBRA. So, you get a lump sum .. period, but it does take a pay cycle or two (if that helps). If rehired too soon, you have to repay some portion of the severance. I would just plan on keeping the severance liquid if being re-hired is imaginable.

Regarding new WARN, considering that it is still less than 30 days from 9.1.2017 WARN notice, wouldn't people affected in SCA automatically get a WARN (i.e., appearing on ARIA for the next 60 days)? Please correct me if I misunderstand the mini-WARN applied to California.

8+ months ago, while I was still in SCA10, my recollection was that there were about 1230-1240 under

KB. So it had been down ~200 heads so far..

Wonder if UK/WWOPs got hit this time...

It looks like US RIFs will still not be enough to trigger new WARN for SCA so check Aria later next week to see how much the headcount. SCA and Broomfield were hit hard.

It's practically every month there are layoffs. Is there also a hiring freeze?

Sounds like they are trying to stay "under the radar screen" once again... continue the trickles over many months so that the business pages don't pick up on yet another shredding of senior tech jobs.

Exit interviews are scheduled in Bldg 10 today. It doesn't look like a big RIF but the details are coming in slowly via sneaker-net. No boxes seen in the copy rooms though.

your healthcare insurance may get messed up if you get laid off and wait to get rehired, which is what it would be - pay close attention to that in the paper work you get
