This company is ridiculous! I have given 19 years to this place and was told today my role had been eliminated. Leadership has NO empathy for their people. What a disgrace this company has become!

Simply ask yourself what good can possibly come from staying at the Walmart job any longer. Do a cost benefit analysis. This is how I decided for myself and I remain very happy with my decision.
With the current situation, the HO is going to experience a brain drain. I know 2 excellent people in the past 2 weeks that gave their 2 week notices and found better jobs/companies/situations for themselves. One locally in Rogers, AR and the other out of state. Their stress level must be non-existent.
Keep this in mind too, it is easier to get a job when you have a job. Even though layoffs are rampant some of the people hiring somehow think if someone got laid off it means they did something wrong, for that reason they won't even talk to you about a job. Don't wait to get let go, leave on your own terms.
Agree you don't want to stick around to the end and realize you can't land any job because all of ISD is competing with you for shrinking job pool. Timing is everything and this situation screams sinking ship
Everyone reading this, it's time. Get out while you can. It will be hard but you have to do it for you and your family's future. Bentonville is the satellite office now. You are not safe here.
Really? 19 years? Wow, are you actually surprised by this?? I guess you missed the thousands of other Associates that have been displaced since January with 10, 20, 30, 40 year of experience. It's been happening quietly for months. No one should be surprised when it happens to them because you are no better/worse/different than anyone else that has been let go by Walmart. Don't act like you didn't know it could happen any day. My advice is to get the hell out of there as fast as possible.
Prayers to you and your family. I've been on O/N for nearly 16 years been hearing how Walmart wants to get rid of O/N stockers and have Cap 2 do the stocking. They are planning to keep around 10 people if any at all. I'm just here for the ride. I Kno that there is life after Walmart. We all will find jobs where we fill appreciate and treated with respect. I pray all is well with you my friend and know that you are not alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you in Jesus name.
Sorry for all here who have been let go or are worried about it happening. For the poster who lost their position yesterday make sure you are open to recruiters on LinkedIn. I got a position immediately after layoff last year that pays about 20% more than I made, I don't have the stress that came with Walmart either. I still am getting contacted for positions by recruiters a few times a month. As others have said, there is life after Walmart, it is good and you WILL find an employer who appreciates your talent!
Best to you!
Sorry to hear this is happening again. I too encourage you to check out Indeed. I found my new job from a listing there. So, it does happen.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, and welcome to the club.
Take heart, there is life after WM, and it can be good.

sug. Why would you make such an absurd assumption and then comment as such?
Agree that they sell the access to let companies design their pages at Glassdoor. But the reviews are anonymous and can help other job hunters know what they're getting into. Those reviews and the salary benchmarking is what underpins their business. If they mess that up, traffic to their site dies.
I am guessing you are one of the silent layoffs
@nbe you need to be careful with Glassdoor. They make money by posting jobs and by selling page access to HR departments of large companies. There is a pricelist floating on the web, I think it's 50K to 100K per company per year just for page access (that's why our page on Glassdoor is branded and neat - that's why you see WMT's replies to our messages there). Anyhow, as expected, we are the biggest customer.
So, Glassdoor follows the proverbial "customer first" logic - you and me and that guy that does research on recruiting are just fodder to them...
Your best bet is social media and here on layoff.com - people know Glassdoor is biased, so this would be like an alternative source of info. Granted, there is ton of #negativity here but you will find some #gold nuggets as well...
I am very sorry to hear this. I wish you all the best. Good luck and Godspeed!
@qua, great suggestion! Definitely post on Glassdoor, help others dodge a bullet.
I've noticed some of the posts on Glassdoor mention questionable illegal activity where Ethics has replied to the poster with the disclaimer about such behavior not being tolerated, yada yada. Beside avoiding a toxic workplace, everyone can agree that no one wants to work where breaking the law takes place.
People who are getting laid off need to start leaving honest accounts of their experience on Glassdoor. Warn the next generation.
@sug why would you not only assume they are ready for retirement why would you assume the person is a man?
@ sug, how do you know if someone is ready for retirement? The person posting in this thread seems distressed about being let go today.
He should've been close to retiring anyways. I be he got a really nice severance.
Where did you work at homeoffice or a store and what was your role? Sorry you lost your position
Heard more are coming in HR at home office.
