I was laid off in the last round, and unlike what I see from majority of the posts here, I was one of the rare who truly enjoyed working there. I've been with Nike for nearly a decade when I was laid off, and I enjoyed nearly every day of it. It helped, I guess, that I had great co-workers and manager. I landed on my feet and I have a new job, but I'd still return in a heartbeat.

I remember going to a recruiting event of theirs, and concur. I definitely got the vibe of both locker-room culture along with frat/sorority popular people vibe. Left a bad taste in my mouth - glad I didn't take their job.
When all your work is based on image and money (definitely not quality or fair labor treatment) then I can't image the demons that will bring out in people.
Ask anybody who works in service industry, Nike employees always act like they are entitled, always create problems, even their top managers.
They truly don’t like Kanye West though
@PUqp9ub: your post seems sincere and for that you have my sympathy. You miss a company that valued you less than the furniture in its new "free space" office design. You miss a company that is so mismanaged, so bloated and so corrupt, that it pushed honest, hardworking men and women out the door simply because they were too old, too tenured or somehow didn't measure up to the progressive bar. All of us were nothing more than an easily disposed of commodity. Saying you miss Nike after being treated like that is similar to a 19th century slave missing the plantation just because his master fed him well. You would go back? Nike wouldn't have you or any of us. Why do you think they forbid us from reapplying for jobs at Nike for an entire year? You were nothing to them when you were there and nothing to them now. Open your eyes and see that miserable company and all its executives for what they are.
The ONLY good thing about Nike was pay and benefits.
Your manager (and co-workers) makes a HUGE difference. There are a lot of great ones there, but a lot of bad ones too. I had both.
I think most folks on this site...actually liked working at Nike. I mean 10 years plus for most people it seems.
I miss it too, but also know that it was a total grind and the place is changing. Good or Bad...it's changing.
Glad you got a new job!
