Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Has anyone coach said anything?

My coach still has not told my team any news on the upcoming layoffs. Not sure if the coaches were sworn to secrecy or if they do not know at this point but I would think they should at least give a heads up to the rest of my team about the substantial layoff coming.

They need to put some guidance in writing regarding expectations and update everyone.

Otherwise you clearly have coaches who fear for their jobs who won’t relay the message.

This is not right. Let them try and put you on a PIP for low numbers. The word is out there from director level. Too many kiss a-- PHC Coaches trying to please their bosses. They know who they are.

Our coach has never shared any info for the last two RIFs so didn't expect anything different this round.

I’m wondering the same thing, below poster. My coach seemed to think, after a meeting with JR, that PHC’s will not be impacted this round, and will make it to 2018, although no promises on what the 2018 round will bring.

By that’s just my coach’s take and there are plenty of rumors that PHC’s will be impacted as well. Not sure what to believe.

I am an hcm Rn and 8.8 is the old "minimal " daily expectation for hcmrns.

My coach definitely is concerned about quantity over quality which to me seems to be the Humana way! We have been told to get 10 or more a day and to attempt 25-30 people, if we fail we must explain how we will do better😂, I guess we need to figure out how to make people answer the phone.

My coach told us to focus on quality and not to focus on numbers. There is no "metrics" anymore. Told us they will decrease roster size so that we can really focus on calls. Don't rush or shortchange member to hit 8.8 anymore. Decreased roster may help with lessening layoffs?

There are very kind coaches who want to tell us but can't due to fears of losing their jobs. My coach is very transparent and will use tone of voice or certain wording to pick up on things. She is deliberate because she knows most of us read her well. They are in bad situations and are on the chopping block depending on how many are let go

Below poster, are you a PHC? My PHC friends are all getting wildly different mesages from their coaches, but of course coaches are people too and will respond to stress in different ways. My one colleague says her coach reminded everyone to update resumes, but on my team we haven’t been told anything.

My coach has not said anything directly related to a lay off, but she's hinted around we need to be worried. For example, when we were doing telemodulairty training she made comment about the fact that once we started moving members to monitored we wouldn't have enough left to meet numbers. She said it in a very worried voice, but most of my team took that as some kind of permission to not make metrics anymore. She's talked a lot about tough changes coming and said we will just have to learn to adapt but won't specificy what she means. She very much trying to convey the fact that there is something we need to be worried about, but won't (can't?) Come right out and say it. Today she's been especially quiet, I haven't heard anything from her all day. Seems like she's been in a ton of meetings lately

My coach is quiet as usual. Before each layoff my coach gets really quiet. I think my coach be nervous as well though.

If coaches are also on chopping block, it’s possible they just don’t have any details themselves. They might feel in the dark just like the rest of us with this RIF.

I'm sure coaches have been instructed to stay silent. My last coach "warned us" before the first round of lay offs and she was let go.

Yeah, I am not going to go nuts about it or try to over perform. If not this round, there will be another in 2018, and I know my shelf life at Humana is getting shorter. I’m not going to make myself sick about it.

I am telling you, the hunt is on for those not meeting expectations! Nothing said by our coach about ANY layoffs. Reviews of our performance are under scrutiny! Other teams as well. Just stay on your toes and perform for the little henchman as the time draws near. This is so stressful, if anyone knows...please speak up on what they are planning.

My coach is not as active in the chat. Has mentioned upcoming changes but that is all. Says it's due to CGX 2.0. She does keep asking us to put our vacation time in for the holidays. Yeah right. LOL

Our coach said the last they were told was HAH was not expected to be hard hit as “this area has been cut already so much this year.” That was a cpl weeks ago. Nothing since.
