Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Help! my managers are committing fraud

I'm in so much fear of losing my job :( I work at the At&t in Vista Village Drive and they're forcing us to commit fraudulent activities. I don't know what to do but we are practically waiving deposits for Direct TV by modifying the applications. Some co workers stood up for themselves and they got fired! (I swear to God) a lot more stuff is going on. I hate the new management as each day I fear of losing my job but I'm tired of ripping off customers too. Can anybody give me advice ? Besides the Just Quit your job comments. I can assure you this is 100% legit! Things are bad, they will do whatever it takes to hit their quotas.

Everyone keeps talking about the DIRECTV now fraud but no one knows what the fraud is? Is there some kind of a loophole that creates fake sales?

Most AT&T managers turn their heads so they can meet or exceed expectations.

Troll! But thanks to the internet and boards like this, The truth is coming out more and more and it is harder to lie! The plead ignorance, tactic that you didn't know, doesn't work because everyone is saying it. According to u, everyone on the board and all the lawsuits are liars! So quick to come to the defense shows u are a troll.

If u don't want people to know you're harassing people, STOP , Don't try to cover it up. Well the #s or should I say the lack thereof, speaks for itself.

another indicator how absurd this is: you don't even know how to report it? Every employee is trained on this every year. And if you get stuck you can just google it: it's posted right on the public internet. No employee should have to ask on a forum like this how to report an ethics issue. I don't even know why I took the time to type this response, it's 90 seconds of my life I'm never getting back.

Wow, false and fake. Each reply in this post gets more and more absurd. So they fired you for blowing the whistle and then continued to harass you after? That sounds logical -- NOT!

What is the number to report problems? I reported harassment. I ended up with property damage. Overqualified, degrees and certified. I was given a layoff notice after I reported harassment . Left the company and the harassment continued to escalate

@PA3CdDu-khd was that an insult? Did you re-read your first paragraph? “You guys have the low IQ required to stay employed at AT&T.” You do realize you're, hopefully still, employed by the same company, as I am. I never wish unemployment on anyone, us idiots need to stick together.

I told my wife we were accused of being Republican idiots, she wanted to kick your butt!

But then I told her I accused you of “Fake News” and she wanted to kick MY BUTT for being rude and suggested I apologize.....I’m still thinking on that one.

How about a few parting words of wisdom instead, from one idiot to another. People who read these threads come in all types, and some are NOT idiots, they may be your immediate boss or levels above. Many people speak the way they write so the people around you, and those who work with you, may recognize the words you say at work and recognize them here.

Unless your conscience overwhelms you, keep opinions low key and never in the work place....unless you are ready to assume the consequences. And as a post script, never talk politics either.

Good luck

You can call the hotline , you can be a whistle blower, but at the death star, you are always guilty when you accuse someone of wrong doing. It is the most corrupt on the back end of management. Our jobs now are the most real " Survivor" show anyone can imagine.

Did you contact our protectors in the CWA? I forgot, they have an unlisted phone #. They will keep taking Union dues, however. SMH

Anyone saying "fake news" is already a MAGA idiot...you guys have the low IQ required to stay employed at AT&T.

My manager absolutely did demand a $2000 bribe and put it all in e-mails and texts. I would gladly attach them here if I could. HR did demand I rescind my complaint. I also did have a lawyer contact them and they sent me an apology. Nothing happened to the manager other than a demotion and losing all of her direct reports.

Maybe stop reading Drudge all day and get your heads out of the sand?

I'm calling shenanigans on the $2000 bribe. However, I am saying that fraud is implied by management and without such, T would not have the numbers they have. Employees have to do this to keep their jobs. Obviously it's wrong, and if the shareholders knew what went on they would sell.

@PA3CdDu sorry but “Fake News” pretty much sums up your story, which makes you a Troll. No one in their right mind air mails their work address when the same results can be done quietly and ANONYMOUSLY!

Then you say, “some co-workers stood up for themselves and they got fired! Swear to God.” And so now we are to believe the two, or more, co-workers decided to face down the guns of AT&T, taking a moral stand then ‘went quietly into that good night’ without so much as a whimper.....Really? Ahuh, right!

@PA3CdDu-eme, again skepticism reigns! You say a manager threatened a bad review unless you handed over $2K AND “you have it all in writing!” Does anyone seriously believe that a manager would dish up their career by putting such a demand in print? Managers are not always bright, but they are never that dumb!

Sorry, but I don't believe for a minute a manager would demand $2000 for a good review and if it do happen, asset protection would NEVER demand you rescind it. Fake news.

You're in trouble. When I was working in corporate engineering, a manager once demanded I give her $2000 or else she'd give me a bad review. I had it all in writing and contacted the hotline. I got a phone call a day later from an HR person yelling at me for submitting the complaint and had my job threatened unless I rescinded it. AT&T is very corrupt.

AT&T takes fraud seriously. It has a hotline set up for employees to report instances of fraud and protects whistleblowers. "Just do the right thing" is Huntley's Compliance Organization's motto.

You can (and should) notify asset protection. You can do it anonymously over the web. Provide as much detail as possible, it's more likely to get addressed quickly.

If it’s truly fraudulent then call the hotline and report it. Don’t post it here.
