You f*ers posting that it's fake news...it was so UNfake and widespread (at multiple sites and not only in the US) that In many cases it was done by conference call. They didn't have enough conference rooms, time, or HR droids to deliver the news in person today.
I'm not affected but in the know. It is NOT fake news. Best wishes to my former Oracle team mates. We'll see how long it is before I too am an Oracle alum.

If layoffs were a hoax then management is in on the hoax. The email from oracle director in San Diego posted last week said, "I need to be in the Bay Area Thursday and Friday - we are having a massive layoff and I may be part of it unfortunately. There may be further reorg meetings next week as well"
So is the term "package arriving via Fedex" the new "Checks in the mail"? So? anyone actually receive a package?

remember that last week there was the rumor that last Thursday the big layoff was coming, but last Thursday came and went. then they said the real date was it was pushed out to yesterday (Thursday aug 31), but then yesterday came and went, and then the rumor was the big layoff would be today but that is all BS too, someone is playing games, there may be a few small targeted layoffs of dead wood but the rumor of massive RIF is BS.
mark my words, by COB someone will post how the BIG layoff has been delayed again until next week or next month
Idiot. It's happening today. The email to Systems Employees was just sent. I personally have a package arriving via Fedex and 60% of my team does as well.
