Tech w/in Nike is loaded with a 100s of H1Bs. I didn't see a single one being asked to leave or an American worker re-assigned to replace an H1B with similar or better skills. I'm semi familiar with that law, and I think Nike may be violating the law. If not, they are certainly being unethical at a minimum. They move the H1Bs around to positions that they did not come to America to fill, especially management. No special skills needed there (ha ha). They should expect a class action or an immigration lawsuit. Nike has completed their entry into corporate America and that the almighty dollar rules. @PhilKnight, I'm sorry your great company turned into sh--. Stock price over people!

Agreed with Original Poster. This is Nike's dirty little secret!
Having hired H1b s myself I ll say that the only party benefiting here is Nike - American workers suffer due to job loss, the H1b suffer because of low pay. Would they like to be paid more, yeah who would not? But H1b is modern servitude where you are so beholden to the employer for years that you cannot negotiate at all.
5 H1B Finance Managers added just in 2017, out of a total of 10 in 4 years. Odd. Are Finance Managers suddenly hard to find? That's definitely not the kind of position I would expect Nike to need to source from the non-American candidate pool.
@qmn WOW! That was a lot of assumptions. Not sure why you would assume racism. This has nothing to do with race. It has to do with labor/price fixing.
@fku the only thing I can do is to continue to harp about this - #h1b is a schema invented to depress IT wages of US workers, a successful one indeed - IT wages have been stagnant (adjusted for inflation) since 2001.
@qmn - this has nothing to do with race or nationality, this is an economic issue and it has to do with foreign labor being imported to depress IT wages. We do not import doctors or vets, hence 300k+ salary levels for those professions. The #h1b program was designed to bring in the best and the brightest, you cannot tell me that a $107k median pay Indian tester is either best or brightest we can do. Also, US citizens and green card holders are regular W2 employees and do nit require any visa. Finally, 87% of all H1B visas went to India, almost all of them to Wipro, Tata, Infosys, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra and Indian outposts of Accenture and IBM - use the website I provided and search for each of the companies I listed - there are tens of thoudands of visas each of the companies got.
Your assumptions have some basis in the truth but is fundamentally flawed and racist. Here is why, Just because there are quite a few Indians and Chinese in Tech does not mean they are all HiB.
For sure about 1/2 are, but many are US Citizens and Green Card holders with Masters degrees. Do not equate every Asian you see in Technology as an H1B person. They are just as American and have the same fundamental rights. The US is diverse and not all Americans are Wonder bread in complexion. Neither are all IT workers who are Asian foreign.
so what is the next step?? The list itself shows obvious abuse... reporter?
There you have it, all H1B is public as the government is granting visas...

We've hired 430 H1Bs since 2014. The average salary is 111K, the median salary is 107K. Almost all of them are here in Oregon.
There is a ton of test engineers on the list. Gimme a break - we cannot find an American test engineer? A ton of business analysts and systems analyst - cannot find an US based analyst? WOW!
