Based on discussions and what we hear from internal sources, HW/sparc is on life support . The question is when they will pull the plug . However, O will announce M8 and they will make a big deal about it . It is a good chip after all .
Here are few questions:
-
would Oracle Risk M8 success by having no road map for future products and have a massive layoffs? how would M8 succeed in such an environment ?
-
Is there a hope for M9 to be re-designed/changed to be competitive. or its too late for that.
-
Why O is not doing this massive layoff and end all this drama since the HW business is dead. why next month / next week or who knows when ? why not layoff everyone tomorrow since it can't get any worse than that .. why the slow death and keeping people working on a dead project ?
-
IF O kept some hardware to work on that is complimentary to X86 , would that still mean massive layoffs since Sparc is irrelevant at this point !
please keep discussions logical.
