Let's be straight folks, Verizon can no longer compete against T-Mobile and the other competitors. T-Mobile has become a marketing genius. They attract the millennial's and the elderly's, with simplistic pricing. It is now too late for Verizon. Verizon will begin to close stores, turn stores over to indirect ultimately Verizon may diversify out of the wireless business altogether:

Round two of layoffs will occur next week. Verizon deserves to go down the tubes. Any company who treats their employees the way Verizon does by getting rid of valuable tenured employees for dumbed down Wireless versions isnt doing anyone any good. Worst company I ever worked for, but now I can at least go be the leader I never had at Verizon . I can thank MCI for those skills, not Verizon.
T Mobile does have a union workforce.
It's less about marketing and more about OPEX. Verizon can't compete because it's a big bloated telecom. It's operating expenses are far higher than T Mobile. Verizon has over 160,000 employees while T Mobile has 60,000. Verizon has expensive union employees and T Mobile does not.
It's like Nordstrom trying to compete with Walmart. T Mobile has the ability to run Verizon into the dirt and there is nothing Verizon can do. It's like when a football team can't stop the running game of the other team.
