Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Moved from HPE to DXC to Get laid off

What a plan. Move HPE employees by the droves to this acknowledged failure corporation. HPE will not survive like it's DXC smoke and mirrors company.

HPE is doing layoffs starting today! Manager notified us of the ax. Not sure how long this well last but it's not looking good for any HPE employee. There will be MANY more to come... MANY!!!

HPE did the same thing to me. After 30 years of great performance reviews, was moved to DXC one month before 'go live'. No defined role. Then was promptly laid off 2 weeks later. Was told on a Monday that my last day would be Friday. Received 8 weeks severance, one of those weeks included my last week of work. No outplacement support. Blindsided by a management team I thought I could trust. Denied a severance package that would have respected my years of service. If a company can do this to its employees, I'm sure its customers aren't far behind.

The benefit is to DXC. Purchase price adjusted. Announced RIFFs after acquisition inflate the stock price. Board sells. Wall Street confidence raises in DXC management to better manage and to meet announced investor plan.

Someone asked - what is the benefit to HPE of moving an employee to DXC only to immediately lay them off?

Answer-ALL DXC WFR's happening now were planned to happen while HPE (March timeframe) but HPE didn't want to pay severance so they pulled them at the last minute. I was saved by the bell if you will. HPE had the "better' package. So everyone came over already on a list and is getting a worse/cheaper package. It's a money game.

I will be WFR'd as of Monday! 1 weeks to pack up and leave!

"HPE will not survive like it's DXC smoke and mirrors company." Neither will DXC survive. Quite prophetic that those three consanants mean nothing. The 'company' has no meaning, no ethics, and contrary to its adolescent webpage, no actual product or service to offer. The market knows this and will rapidly retreat once the queen is placed in check.

The benefit to HPE is they get to keep all the severance dollars that were intended for HPE employees. They need to make sure they have enough to cover Meg. This company is disgusting. Thirty one years of service, trained my India replacement to get the carrot at the end. Well the carrot turned into a weed. I hope they get more lawsuits and the negative publicity they deserve.

@1qxz - yep, money isn't even a consideration at Meg's level of wealth. In addition to ego, I would add 'power' and 'influence'.

"Meg is getting more and more Meg-a-Desperate for Her go-away money (AKA, contractual reward for failure) "

It's worse than that .... she's worth Billions with a B. The go-away money doesn't mean squat to her. She's just doing this out of ego.

There are no benefits to the employee. It's a numbers game...what number to layoff this quarter, how many next quarter..how much will layoffs cost us this quarter...how much will it costs us over the course of the year..how will this many layoffs affect margin...how much can we push up the stock price with this many layoffs...etc. This hasn't nothing to do with any particular person, but what slot they put you in. If you fall in the category to be laid off this quarter, because that will reduce the cost vs revenue, then you get laid off. This has absolutely nothing to do with what job you were doing, what company pre-merger you belonged to, or the contract they have with the client. They don't care. And you have to admit, they really did absolutely nothing to integrate employees from one company to another, other than buy some balloons and tell you to wear black. I'm sincerely sorry if you thought that the fact they moved you to DXC meant they wanted to keep you. They are going to lay everyone off, except the very cheapest off-shore resources.

Meg is getting more and more Meg-a-Desperate for Her go-away money (AKA, contractual reward for failure) when finally, at long-long last, the last remaining 4 employees of HPE are split into the HP-Extinct Corporation v/s the HP-Extinct Corpse!
