Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

To all the Granny Meg lovers - 52 high, HPE moving forward crap

All of this is propaganda by Meg and company. Granny is moving full speed ahead into selling everything and making the numbers look good - she works for the Wall Street and employees can go to he**. How many of you got any raises after 2009, probably none. During the same time, the company still made billions and where did those billions go, to make Wall Street investors happy.

So Granny Meg never worked for the benefit Employees which is fine but let's at least admit to that. She is no leader, and no visionary just a good accountant. Period. In the end, when everything is sold off, her stock portfolio and bank account will till look good. But in the eyes of the people she would have failed miserably.

What's the next piece of furniture to burn to make Q4 look good? The "machine" ain't gonna cut it especially with the optics of CTO getting booted/retiring.

So what if there is a 52 week high stock price? That's great for the investment bankers, but horrible for HPE employees when that stock price has been achieved by cost cutting through WFRs and slashing employee benefits. That is not a sustainable growth model and Wall Street knows it so is making their profits while they can before the entire company is sold off unit by unit.

Maybe we come back to this site just to encourage others that there IS life after HPE. And it's better. And to provide support during difficult times. Ok and maybe to be glad that we're out of a toxic environment.

@2ocm, if you don't work at HPE, why do you keep coming back to this site? To see how many other people get kicked out? Why do you still post here? Get over it and move on. I can understand it should have been a traumatic event for you & fam, but you are not here anymore... Move on with both your personal & career lives. If you need to use this site as therapy, oh well... "Enjoy"...

@rpy...I've been 15 years here etc. Now we also know let all the educated people go that have kept the customers happy and the company afloat and keep the uneducated and probably underpaid onboard. Calling it like I see it.

Also, one other thing and I'm done with this stupid conversation. If you think this is such a worthless waste of time to have these discussions and talk amongst each other about everything why do you keep coming back to post more crap? Most of us that have been laid off have spent most of our professional career here thinking we were probably going to retire here just to get laid off because HPE needs to bring in younger cheaper staff to sell the company off to make their numbers look better. Again go back to the unrealistic HPE approved website where you can fit in with the other top dogs rolling this crap out and feels the same way you do.

Why do you care so much when people should have a place to vent and tell what's really going on as we live it and see it everyday? If HPE is so strong and on the right path why does one website bother you so much especially when people need to talk about what's happening? Why don't you stay on the HPE hosted approved websites and move on and let everyone vent to each other about their frustrations without your 2 cents and what they know and have seen and tell their story? Go drink some more koolaid.

@1blc... I have no job security here, and I know I can be laid off at any time... And that's exactly my point. I stay here because I choose to. No one is forcing anybody in HPE to "be miserable" in their jobs. It's a personal choice of each one of us. So, if you decide to stay, why whine so much? Do your job (and be grateful to have one), and if not happy or comfortable, just look for a gig somewhere else. I think it's a waste of time to vent the frustrations here without taking any action. If you stay, work hard, and be proud of what you do. If you come every day whining about how miserable you feel on this Company, and don't do anything about it, then it's your fault to feel that way. And to be very honest... For the ones that really want to work here, that whining is demoralizing. Those whiners deserve to be kicked out. That's simply the way I think. If you don't like Meg, or the direction the Company is taking, or the constant ambiguity and uncertainty, then go somewhere else... If you don't do anything and decide to stay, well... Shut up. You won't gain or do anything by just complaining. That's simply very dumb. You can come up with all the excuses in the world on why you stay, but they are simply YOUR excuses, and are valid only to you. It's time to be serious about your personal & career goals. If HPE is not the place for you, do something about it. L E A V E...

What's really funny after reading the responses is what @rpy says. This person says "I acknowledge and understand what you are saying about the employees...Apparently you don't consider yourself one if you say you still work there. You must be so high up you have some type of job security or at least you think you do. Very funny and sad that you could say all that without any feelings for your colleagues when everyone has put their blood, sweat and tears into this company and also believed in it just to get screwed over.

@kgy

Typical pronouncement "If you don't like it leave". Can't refute anything, unable to add to the discussion and incapable of indepent thought. No wonder you've remained there 15 years. HP is on the wrong side of the disruption curve and it's not hard to see why.

@rpy - I've been 15 years here, and worked for both HPI & HPE businesses. I firmly believe that Meg is following the right strategy for the Company. I acknowledge and understand what you are saying about the employees... But again, no one is forcing anybody to stay here. If anyone wants to leave, the doors are wide open. I haven't being laid off in these 15 years, but if I do, it was a personal choice. I wouldn't blame HPE for it. I've known for years that might be a real possibility at any time. It's my choice to believe and to stay. Why would I spent time badmouthing her and the Company if I would stay here? That doesn't make any sense. If anyone is not happy, simply leave. If anyone can't deal with the ambiguity and uncertainty, simply leave... I've worked in that kind of environment since my day one, and I don't foresee that changing any time soon.

Is this your first job? Because you are very unrealistic. Go study the history of once great companies (or even very good) who are long forgotten. Both hardware, software and consulting.

No one is forcing me to stay here as an employee. If I do, it's because I want to (and believe in the direction the Company is undertaking). If I get laid off, it was because of a risk that I voluntarily assumed. I firmly believe this Company is here to stay, even if further along the road it merges with another one. An eventual merger... Probably... Being broken in pieces and forgotten as product lines within other Companies? I REALLY DOUBT IT... Go HPE!!
