Do we have any WF insiders here who can tell us if folks terminated here (the 5300 to be exact) were terminated over time or has this happened all of the sudden? Also, any additional detail would be helpful, e.g., were they provided severance pay, was any senior exec fired for this etc.
In my opinion, this episode indicates that there is a severe lack of oversight and risk management - just my two cents... Wells Fargo was one of rare banks that behaved moderately well during the downturn, and I hope this round of layoffs does not taint your reputation much.
