Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Will happen to optimize going into Q4

Monday, July 18 falls perfectly to give people two weeks to close out business, hand off to peers, etc. It is real. Honestly, who believes you can merge two failing businesses, with any hope of success, without major staff cuts?

I think a lot of people still don't realize that layoffs don't necessarily mean net headcount reduction. Plenty of times, HPE simply transfer roles to Countries with lower cost structures to save tons of money. Add to that ridiculous international tax loopholes, and you have the perfect recipe for jobs to go abroad. I won't vote for DT, because I don't agree with his views on a lot of things, but I have to give him the need to put the right policies in place to bring jobs back to the US. I have nothing against our peers in lower cost Countries, but the reality is that more controls are really past overdue.

You either cut highly paid top performers or average paid average performers, and most of the time average is good enough especially if the current quarter is all you care about.

You might have a bright future if you're a poorly paid top performer - of course many of these people end up leaving of their own volition.

It's a miracle that you haven't been twrown a "Stop trolling". There's a Meg @##kisser always lurking this site, that would consider this illegal anti-HPE propaganda, and will do everything on her/his hands to discredit and censor you. So far she/he has been extremely successful with other posts, to a point that this forum has been silenced. Corporate: 1 / Employees: 0

Here is reality, managers are being forced to reduce top performer's, it does not matter if you have been there 10 yrs, it does not matter that you are vet, it does matter that your disable spouse has had 2 heart attacks in the last month or the fact that you sold new business contributing to revenue targets. At the end of the day your thank you is hit the door, you are not person you are a number and they are being told we will hit our numbers regardless.

My number was called this wave after fighting to save or delay others, but I could not save myself

It's very real. I'm getting it in the morning. 8 AM....nice n early. Refraining from commenting further until confirmed and reading the separation papers on what I can and cannot say and to see how closely they'll be monitoring. I have a lot to say if I can do so without legal ramifications.

Orgs were either given a % reduction target or were completely eliminated. Some managers hinted to their employees that they were going to be let go. My entire org will be officially notified this coming Monday. Many people were notified this past Monday with their last day of 7/22. Notifications will continue weekly until the merger.

Gosh... @bqu... I'm @ydv. Could you please define what means "trolling" to you? Please, educate me, so I better understand what is acceptable to post in here vs. what is inappropriate (at least to you). Everything seems to be "trolling" nowadays... Are trying to censor or be the police of this forum? It won't work, pal. My reply had nothing inappropriate or against the T&C of this site.

I wonder if they purposely fostered last week's rumors (or at least let them grow without denying them) to take credibility out of this site. If that was indeed the case, it was brilliant on their side...

What people don't seem to understand (or realize) is that HPE is laying off people every week, everywhere. Don't look at it expecting a mass hit day. There are A LOT of reasons that it would be very dumb for HP to do a mass layoff on a targeted date (think of public relations, media coverage, etc.). Even though they have announced big numbers during some Wall Street quarterly announcements, the reality is that the execution has been consistently done little by little. Very simple... Divide and conquer... It has been working really well for them. Don't continue wasting your time and energy with fear against specific dates (look at what happened last week and this past Monday). There were several layoffs, but not at the scale thought... And, what happened? NO ONE is talking about the few that were booted out, but about the "fiasco" of this past Monday. Wake up, people. These guys in HR and communications know really well what they are doing. I bet they have people monitoring sites like this...
