Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Customers

It is the customers who will suffer, as productivity drops through the floor, with low morale and people jumping ship.

Product features will be slower to come out, and support will weaken, due to good people leaving, and remaining people not only having low morale, but also being spread too thin.

It's an excellent example of a death spiral, and it is going to be fascinating to watch now from the outside to see how this plays out.

When management cares more about numbers than about customers, it's over. Get the hello out while you can!

why taking care when you have to prepare your "being fired" due to "strategic" interests of the red machine

Executives don't care anymore. They just want numbers and metrics for their bonus or CV for the next gig at another company. Even if you want to care, your hands are tied and you are at the mercy of Big Red Machine.

Just had a big Oracle customer tell me the other day that they will not be going to the cloud. They called Oracle dead tech and if they do go cloud it will be with someone other than Oracle. Ouch. Even everyone who was not laid off is looking to exit.
