Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Do any other EWA's have stories about being bullied by the local managers? The oaf that runs my location is constantly crossing the boundary.

Our shop manager is unreal. Call me if u can't fix it within 30 mins. But of course he never answers. So I trouble shoot because am I supposed to stand in front of the customer doing nothing. Then I get yelled at after waiting an hour for his return call because I did try to fix it wih out his assistance over the phone. Totally get why the union is on strike. But. How did the union ever allow this kind of poor management's behavior to flourish. All I can recommend is to report everything back to your home office. My boss called my last assignment and things did improve. Demand mgmt's outrageous requests to be sent in email and IF that happens (it usually won't) forward that on as well. My home office fully supports me and I m grateful for that and I have it in writing that no matter how poorly they say I am performing (I am closing everything out) my job is not in jeopardy. Stay strong. Enjoy the pay and screw the blowhards with minimal power.

Our guy can be funny at times but is overall intimidating and blunt. He has been flexible about time off which is a nice benefit.

I am EWA and my manager is very respectful and helpful. I am sure they have pressure to deliver results from above but nothing should cross a line called DIGNITY. I am 99.9% sure you in your normal job are way better off than HE/SHE will be ever be in 40 some years in Verizon. So if push comes to shove... strike back and let them be known... you DESERVE better and it BETTER be NOW !!! Union exists so high school pass/drop out can make decent money and not flip burgers... heck which company on earth pays this much for basic education/below average IQ and of course the biggest = NO AMBITION to PROGRESS

heck i used to score 137 on IQ tests and being here for 40 days i scored 82 today... ya knw wht i meen

Not here - our local supervisor, our main EWA supervisor, and also supervisors from other groups have gone out of their way to make us feel welcome, they have taken time to train us and show us everything we need to know to be successful. It's been amazing the teamwork that we've had - even across other organizations!

The winner in charge of my location threw the keys of the truck I was assigned to at my head and screamed "get to work!" He looks like Marcallus Wallace from pulp fiction. It's terrifying.

I know the union folks and the managers in the call center in my area, they are all actually good people, personally. The managers are so frigging hard on the associates it causes many to resort to (legal) drugs to deal with the stress and anxiety. Managers say they are forced to be a--holes by the 2ND levels. Perhaps Lowell could do an Undercover Boss episode and see what it's really like. At least with you it's temporary, imagine years of that treatment.

If you are a manager, tell them to phukk off! Chances are that you could escalate things to a place that these call center managers would not like.

Somebody at my location was questioned bout the status of a job. It got loud and angry very quickly. I don't know where this is headed.

I was beginning to think about the horror stories that trickled through over the years. Now I am beginning to think it's true.
