If the Union feels so entitled to call the shots for Wireline, why don't they and the members pony up the money and buy it from Verizon?

I mean if they feel they can do it better, if they want to be able to call the shots, so why don't they put their money where their mouth is? The answer is because like all complainers, they love to throw stones at other people but do all they can to avoid taking responsibility for themselves. If they are truly what makes Wireline tick, then why not take it over? That would be interesting to see the union dealing with how to make Wireline competitive. I wonder how long it would take them to start contracting out the call centers to save money.

Most of the management I know have MBAs or CPAs or other technical degrees and could get hired anywhere. Very capable people. We got rid of most of the dead weight with the Rifs that have happened. I'm not sure who the last poster has met from management, but it's no one I know. Maybe they were former union members who still act like they are union.

The responses from these supervisors sound rather childish. typically management doesn't have any real skills nor are they educated past the 12 grade... over paid and overrated. typically first and second line supervisors are riffed after a strike, so these jackasses are likely to be gone by the time the real work force gets a contract ratified. They usually get frustrated and lash out at others on the way down. Anyway, i wish the union would buy wireline, or just sell it from the jackholes that run it now... Anyway i am in this for the long haul, this is my three year vacation. I save exactly 100 dollars every week and have almost 5000 at the end of each year. this time I saved 15,000 and vacationed with family in idaho for two weeks. The last contract i did the same thing but we were only out for 2 weeks so I spent the money on a new car. well so much for my misfortune, but arent these supervisors embarrassing and petty... ;=)

The union guys won't answer the question because they don't want the risk or responsibility that comes with ownership. They just want to piss and groan about the man.

Well Wireline is a play on words .Wireless provided the budget to startup Fios....... Now with Verizon giving the take it or leave to all copper customers and to top it off. Verizons lack of respect for its emplyees is down right disgusting. The FIGHT must go on. Uber is good. Pony up

Gnj you want well thought out responses from the picket monkeys? They aren't allowed to think on their own, and they can't use multi-syllable words. Why do think their little chants are so short? They can't remember them if they aren't. Unless they have their union bosses hands up their a$$ using them like a ventriloquist dummy, they have no thoughts.

oooohhhh... and, if you don't want to venture out with your brethren because you're afraid they won't hold up their share, well- that's the same reason unions have reputations as unproductive and expensive.

Seriously, why not? You guys have it all figured out. You should take your strike fund, and use it as a down payment on a loan to buy wire line. Then you’d be contract free… you could be in control of your own job security. You succeed, you have security… you fail- it’s gone. You determine how far you travel for work… you don’t go, it doesn’t get done.
