Damn, managers are happy to finally earn their wages, hopefully they learn something about the business during thsee times. The women standing around watching the men fail are the real winners, they probably go home and rim their husbands now knowing how lucky they are not to be hitched to a worthless EWA

"Those who don't get double time after 50 are those who make less $ during normal periods."

That's a typo. It should have said those who don't get double time after 50 are those who make MORE $ during normal periods.

"Many? Oh this will piss off the majority of the EWA's. Thanks for sharing."

Those who don't get double time after 50 are those who make less $ during normal periods. So, theres not really anything for anyone to get excited about.

""Many get 2x time after 50 hrs. That starts adding up quickly."

Many? Oh this will piss off the majority of the EWA's. Thanks for sharing."

This is not a secret. Its posted right in VZTime where everyone enters their time normally, as well as during an EWA.

"management is salaried. So being on EWA you are now hourly with overtime time and half and double time, which is a big difference. "

Many in "management" (those at band 7T and below) are hourly all the time. It is these folks who get double time after 50 hrs. All other management folks (below Director) get 1.5X after 40 no matter the total hours worked. Directors and above do not receive any additional compensation over their normal salary during an EWA.

So, in the case of an EWA, it is definitely better to be 7T and below from a compensation over and above the norm standpoint.

@tbf: you're right, no bump in pay, but a huge difference each paycheck in the take home pay. The thing is, we have to do the job. We had no choice, so might as well enjoy $100/hr as long as possible. It's the only thing that makes the whole situation manageable.

@joc

You are correct. As an EWAer it baffles me at how people are jumping up and down because of their pay checks. You are working 80 hour weeks no bump in pay. I don't get it. I guess I value my time more than others.

When I worked in PA they bumped our pay 7.5% to cover taxes and offered (and will most likely never see) $250 towards filing our taxes next year.

The moral at this company is going to be an all time low, we are people, not commodities. No one cares about anything anymore except that friday paycheck. No work ethic, no pride, no loyalty, maybe thats the plan to make it die.

I'm on EWA and I'm confused as to so many clamoring about the money.

It's not like they bumped our regular pay up.. we're just working absurd hours and getting overtime.

What a sad outlook on relationships you must have to think that a short time away from home is a catalyst for divorce. If that happens, then there wasn't much to begin with. These same talking points (RIF, divorce, etc.) continue as if we have never seen them.

In the grand scheme of things it's really not that much money. The best bang is too jack up your 401k since that's pretax

Most of us in band 6 make $100k+ salaries as is only working 40-45h a week. With EWA I get overtime unlike normal 40 hour weeks. Now, on the hours past 40 I'm making almost 100 an hour. That means thousand dollar days for Wednesday through Saturday. I'm good thanks for helping my retirement fund.

I'm on EWA and people acting like they won the lottery is sad. If you think you are rich you must mismanage your money during BAU. Look at me I'm a multi-thousandaire!!

You must not have anyone to miss to think is worth a few thousand bucks. In reality you will probably be judged on the wrong side of history.
