As soon as the irvine Texas complex is ready all those in basking ridge will be replaced by lower wage managers in the long horn state..thats a story that will go down in history.when v z finishes their bid for yahoo alot of redundant jobs will be on the chopping block real soon..

@kjz..your logic is slightly flawed. Most craft can easily do their 1st levels job no problem. Most 1st levels can't do craft jobs.

Employment at will. Transfer into a strategic area across business of 180K people or go to another company. Just the way it is. Talented people can always find work.
Why do you have to accept that being RIF'd is normal? How is anyone expected to be a loyal employee if at any time you can be let go? Why have we accepted a throw-away culture of fear?
I hear they are looking at riffing 300,000 employees. Future employees are giving severance to not apply. Double packages being sent out. Union will have to do managers jobs, but since it requires reading will fail.
Who knows! As many as they can possibly get away with is my assumption. That's the Verizon culture unfortunately.
There's an eb and flow to Vz workforce. RIF s are part of any corporate culture. This is a reality that we have accepted.
