Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

We are just fine!!!!!

All CSucker EWA in here stop wasting your time. Union members are doing just fine. We will lose 10k in pay but we get to keep our peace. Enjoy your money, we chose family and happiness over money. We are drinking wine and enjoying time with family that VZ wants to destroy. Money is not everything, look at hollywood folks using drugs left to right . You can buy all you want, we already have everything we need . We just want Respect

Wjz...i hear ya. Yea we had some money saved altho 10m w/o contract wasn't really thinking strike, we've worked w/o contracts before. The money was really set aside for our college bound son but hey it had to be utilized. Hopefully we'll make it up later. We can last until end of mo if frugal (buying 99 cent mens shampoo/body wash today instead of AX really hit a nerve though but hey who sees me, i'm on strike duty once a week, i could probably skip the daily shower and save on the water bill) but its not easy and its not going to keep my credit score up there. No one on this site should be passing judgement...we are all different. Many have children, kids who play travel sports, family members that have special needs, a spouse home with a new baby...did they live above their means at times? Haven't we all? There is nothing to be gained by continuing this strike. Your are not going to get a better deal. Is it everything you want? Probably not but it is the best your going to get in 2016 right now. Put us back to work, i've had enough time vegging at home. This is hurting people in so many ways...

Seems there are some other a--holes on here not working either. Look at you you hypocrite. You most of you people don't even work for Vz. We can tell by your lack of knowledge of the situation and you faux news union talking points. The union does not control our pensions you idiots. Go back to watching Maury, I heard your sisters paternity test is revealed today.

I so wish there was a like button here. For the IBEW it isn't a vacay - they aren't getting paid. Maybe you should have been appreciative of your little call center - high school educated - $100k job. While you had it.

Respect?

Men who are capable of working and providing for their families but chose instead to stay home drinking wine do not receive nor deserve any respect. If you ever do come back, and with each passing day it's looking like that's never going to happen, you will find out what it means to have lost respect.

Really? You're striking because your feelings are hurt? ROTFLMAO!!

Respect is earned not given. Acting like a bunch of thugs and demanding benefits that no one else gets will not earn you respect. Typical entitled crybaby. Grow a pair and get another job if your feelings are hurt.

@WJG- I'm sorry you're going thru this. I'm non union and am working EWA away from home and truly- while the money is good- I miss my family and my normal life. I'm not complaining- just saying it is tough for all of us. I hope they settle it soon, for all of our sakes. I'd like to enjoy my summer as I'm sure you all do too. Best of luck to you.

"We are just fine!!!!!"

You must be one of the Union officials that are cashing full checks paid by the union out of the union member’s pension fund.

Enjoy your paid vacation while it lasts. When all this is over you will feel the wrath of angry union workers as they wake up to the new reality that their pension fund has been sucked dry by the greedy Union leadership.

Yup, you're just fine. For now...

Most I speak with would like to stay out another month. I went to help with the Sandy storm and made a lot of money. Being off is better, getting everything done around the house, and family time.

I know I'm supposed to support this post but you put too much lipstick on that pig.

I am "making it" for now but as most others out here I am sinking. I am not drinking wine and enjoying family time. I am drinking water while trying to shuffle around what I can pay now verses later.

Neither we nor they do any good telling the other about how good or bad it is. It really doesn't matter. It is what it is and Joe Schmo reading this pathetic board isn't going to make any change to the situation.

Check your shoe pal, you stepped in a pile of bravado and need to shake it off. Most I have left is 2 weeks and that's with getting loans from family that I really don't want to borrow from.

They just need to settle this sh-- and put us back to work
