When Chris Shelton says this is about good union jobs across the United States he is not lying. But what he failed to tell you is that these union jobs are at Verizon wireless. Not at Verizon wireline. But somebody forgot to tell Chris Shelton that the kids at the wireless stores only see there job as a place to get gas and beer money until they finish college. They really don't want any part of the union. The greed that is going on is Shelton's false hope to organize the kids at the retail stores so the union can make more money. Hey they brag about their 500 million dollar fund , yet give you a fraction of your paycheck to picket these stores. They dont care about mortgages been over due, college tuition, or food on the table for our families. He is willing to risk all that we have worked for , all that we have saved, all that we own . For what??? So he can get his hands on the kids at the wireless stores. He see no future in us so he is willing to use us as collateral damage in own fight for greed. It's time to ends this. We want a vote. If it's not about this the it's time for the CWA to start paying up out of that nice fat 500 million dollar fund that they wave around and brag about.

The union is not only investing in wireless they are also trying to unionise a company called usic who tone and mark for gas and electric. It seems to me they are trying to get dues from other places so when the wireline business is gone they will be ok. The wheels of the union will get their grease from somewhere else. The members however well thats another story.
Shelton is risking the future of union members. But it's always easier to risk what belongs to others. Always easier to spend other people's money. Always easier to make others put up the risk. So either take one for the team or don't. That is the choice.
Verizon will close company owned stores.
@ewt I do sincerely appreciate your post. I am glad you're doing well Financially as I never want anyone's family to suffer. I guess my question is that if you're fighting for the future, but lose the fight in the present, what difference has it made? I would think the future was better served by signing a decent contract now, then using the coming years to double-down on the wireless stores and have the support lined up for the next contract fight. Right now, you're jeopardizing your job and long term employment for something that may or may not happen in the future. I mean no disrespect by my post as your post was also civil and thoughtful. Best of luck to you.
Maybe that's why when you go into a Verizon wireless store you gets kids with no scruples or don't know anything other then how to sell you something. Everyone I know has a vz wireless rip off story
What you fail to acknowledge or realize is that the reason that the wireless jobs are taken by college kids is because they are not good jobs.
If they were union jobs perhaps they would have a 401k job security and dare I say a decent salary from a billion-dollar Coporation.
Or maybe I could be a little more Brave and it could actually be a career choice for someone with a family.
I don't know about the o.p but I was told by old timers that they suffered for the benefits that we have today . 71 & 89 strikes.
Maybe it's just because me and my coworkers are from New York a very strong union town but I feel a debt to pay it forward to Future Generations.
I have been well aware of this trip for quite some time and I'm doing fine financially. Anyone who is really suffering has not heeded the warnings.
Right now we are chasing some out-of-town scams with criminal records. I did not have time to spell check this so excuse me for any grammar or punctuation errors.
I did notice though that I said I many times but I am not only thinking for myself maybe some others should take this advice too
"It's time to ends this."
Although I disagree with most of what you've written in your post, suicide is not the solution...
"We want a vote"
You'll have to wait until November.
"it's time for the CWA to start paying up "
They have been paying, but only the folks on the picket lines. Not internet trolls. That's VZ's forte.
Amen brother
