Wow, you people have even taken a post about a man's death and turned it into the same senseless back n forth battle over union vs non. Those on here arguing...you really suck.
@pas,
@kcq is right, we are not being greedy. Your failure to realize you are in the same boat with union members. It's funny before the strike our so called laziness wasn't an issue but, somehow after we walk and they send you out to work, we are the lazy ones. Them 12 hour days must be kickin your a$$. That's because you are the lazy one. No real work for you in years, if ever. So STFU, stop the hate and congratulate!
@Hhsj3UR-pas, don't think for one second that people who are striking don't have other opportunities lined up, many of us who were smart with our money are riding this out just fine, and if worse comes to worse we move on to other companies that will probably provide a much better working environment. Verizon has turned into a toxic cesspool, working people to death and keeping them constantly stressed out.
Yes you're right, you are a union idiot. This strike is a crock of crap and you know it. You're going to get nothing more than what's been offered so you're going bankrupt and people are dying for no reason other than the fact that you're too stupid, greedy, and lazy to work for a living.
So the company rifs managers in a contract year, and is not prepared for a strike and the union gets the blame. Here's a thought, keep your managers around until a contract is signed. That's what I would have done, but I'm a dummy know nothing.
A bit dramatic don't you think.
I blame the union scum. Having to put up with constant harassment from the picket line thugs is the worst part of the job. Every one of the union trash should realize they have blood on their hands. This guy was working an EWA assignment BECAUSE THE LAZY GOOD-FOR-NOTHING UNION WALKED OFF THE JOB!!! If you hadn't been so greedy and pathetic, this man would have been home with his family. The union is to blame and I hope you all rot in hell because of it.
@esf Funny you should say that, Because it's exactly what the "Union people" are fight against. Thanks for hitting it on the head.
Don't think EWA stress is the only factor in this tragedy but, it sure didn't help. Just think of what it will be like if Union people have to relocate like that for the life of the contract.
If Lowell cared about the workforce rather than the almighty dollar lining his pockets the strike would not have happened
Stop boot licking ! Company man!
Actions speak louder than words and so far his actions illustrate a condemned and heartless soul.
"You don't even know Lowell."
And I'm sure you don't either. He may just be a heartless pos that only cares about the corporate bottom line and the almighty dollar over a human life, or he may not be that way. It's anyone's guess really.
You're full of sh-- but thanks for being an amateur spin doctor. The situation is truly horrible but Lowell and psychopathic buddies could care less. Just another life lost in their mission to appease Wall St. I'm sure they'll act like they care while taking 3/4ths of his insurance claim but it won't change anything. May this man rest in peace finally.
To yez from a union member. You are an a- hole. Must be a SCAB. Here's wishing bad karma on you, if you even know what that is.
Did you mean John Stratton?
The manager in question was assaulted by a union member and had numerous internal injuries. I'm shocked it's not all over the news yet but it will be.
Peace to this man's family.
I cried in the CO today, and it wasn't the first time.
and Chris Stratton was surprised to hear people wanted to quit working for Verizon after being told so when he visited our EWA garage
mwk: Don't politicize this man's death. You don't know what the situation is so using it to benefit either the union or EWA cause is not only inappropriate but ethically impossible since we don't know the details
I can believe it! We've had Fios techs weeping in people's houses due to the stress that is put on you. No lie: a foreman had to come get him. A third of guys are out on stress leave. Time to wake people up! Nothing but condolences and good thoughts go out to his family.
Could be job related, mabe not, or a combination. I know I'm stressed over this strike.
I don't know anything about that situation, but I would imagine he had other issues in his life. I'm working EWA and though it is stressful (because of the long days/hours and being away from home, not the job itself) I don't find it to be debilitating. Certainly nothing bad enough to even consider harming myself. Of course everyone's job is different and everyone's situation is different.
RIP to this gentleman, and prayers to his family.
You have no damned idea the circumstances surrounding this man's death, so stop speculating.
May be rest in peace
@FTY- you are an evil waste of DNA. A man died.
Union and management all.... please pray for this man's soul. Pray for his family.
I thought everything was rainbows and unicorns with the EWAs. I guess not so stop jerking our chains a--holes.
That's terrible news. The union made a comment along the lines about how a "job shouldn't drive you to that point" and sent it's condolences the managers family. not sure if it was work related or not. I know working non stop 12 hour days with no time to regroup or having a life outside of your job could drive someone over the edge. There is more to life than money and life is too short as it is.
I stand corrected. What a tragedy, senseless. This company is hell bent on destroying us all, management and craft. Let's all get through this. I am Union. My condolences to this poor souls family.
