Today, we met with the New York/New England unions and they made a proposal that was not constructive. We rejected the unions’ proposal and reiterated that they have our last best final offer.
We will continue to keep you updated.

Temporary until we come back! We can come back whenever we want if we agree to terms. So big deal with your contractors.
Why does everybody think the union is suffering? We make a good salary and were FORCED to work plenty of OT. Most at least saved enough for one month of bills and many probably have enough for a few more. If they didn't I suggest getting in touch with your local to get assistance. You can probably get extra funds from your coworkers if need be. We take collections all the time at my garage whether it be for a death in the fam, a new baby, a suspension or whatever. Is $5 enough? No, but $5 from 50 is a good start. Just go worry about yourself. Us men and women know how to take care of ourselves. Are you guys just crying tonight because mommy told you that you couldn't have ice cream tonight? Get a life.
And when we Google labor laws, should we also Google CONTRACTORS and 1099 agreements? Duh.
No Ur right the labor participation in this country is 62 % its not like a huge group of people could be hired and trained lolololol u guys are crazy solidarity
Please, please, please just go and Google about basic labor law. All of you people just sound like little babies who don't know what you are talking about. Vz is gonna hire a new staff of 39000 just in the blink of an eye? Better yet, they will be permanent? It's absolutely comical. Just goto sleep and get some rest maybe. It seems the workload is getting to you. Stay strong union!
For pete's sake people, agree to mediation or take the offer. It appears the co. is calling the union's bluff. The union is suffering, the EWA's are miserable (despite the ones that claim to be "thrilled") and the people doing their own jobs, plus covering for EWA's, are fried. The only people that are content are the VZ execs. Screw up their plan to boot the union by returning to work. Just sayin'.....
Theres always a job with Bernie ......... Oh wait
Yes, those union people have been treated so horribly. I can't believe that horrible company wants to cap the pension (that no one else in the company gets) at 30 years -- how can anyone survive under such horrible conditions?
And to make even worse those horrible company people are asking the union to pay more for rising healthcare like the rest of the company does -- I mean how AWFUL!!
The people replacing you will likely be thrilled that they get such good healthcare considering that a lot of CSRs don't get benefits at all. And they likely will be thrilled with getting paid 2/3 of what you current union folks were earning.
Oh the humanity -- I can't believe you poor union people have survived the tyranny this long. Go work for Level 3 for a couple of months and then come tell us how horrible Verizon is.
Lowell has clearly had enough
"It's clear the Vz execs are done and have 100% moved into the go forward plan."
I hope that you're wrong because if you're not then we're looking at Battle Of Stalingrad with McAdam playing the role of Von Paulus...
Look For the Union Label hahahahahaha
That was the broadcast email sent to all employees who are still working for Verizon and have access to their system. Union isn't coming back unless it's under the offer on the table or some kind of forced mediation. It's clear the Vz execs are done and have 100% moved into the go forward plan. How many days in a row do they have to say the same thing "last, best, final offer"? As the new hires currently in training start working, they are reducing EWA hours and days and will then go to 2 weeks on/2 weeks BAU job. Sucks to be in the middle of it but that's the reality of the situation. A long fight will result in tired/irritated EWA people, broke/jobless union people and some dissatisfied customers. Not pleasant for anyone involved but the end result will not change by itself just by staying on strike longer. Hope it's over soon to minimize all the negative impacts.
"Good. I hope this strike goes on 6 months. By that time the company can have full time replacements in place that appreciate the job they have."
They'll likely hate it as much if they get treated as badly as the union employees have been over the past couple of years...
Good. I hope this strike goes on 6 months. By that time the company can have full time replacements in place that appreciate the job they have. I'm sick of listening to the union whining about things as if they are life/death when the rest of us manage to go without and survive.
I'm literally sick of listening to those people.
Just got the same internal email. I guess this will go on until we have enough replacement workers.
@HdqHVlZ-ags There was an email sent to all management employees.
Verizon is not waiting them out. They are already replacing them everyday. Verizon does not want them back. They want them gone and are completely prepared to do just that.
Curious to where you got this information as neither Verizon or CWA has commented on today's meeting.
VTeam, give me a break.
Some of us will have other jobs by then.
Solidarity Forever hahahahahahahahahahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhahhah
Welp...better extend those hotel reservations another six weeks.
Seems like at this point Verizon is completely fine with waiting out the union members until they go broke and come back.
