No wonder you "techs" get paid the big bucks!

@bzp those 2003 hires have a pension.
Try again.
You are correct, most have zero life experiences. To all milenials, you will grow wiser with age, believe it.
@mxp.. You consider people who were hired 2003 and after new hires?
A lot of drooling idiots have a great deal of "technical" knowledge -- see the message boards at 4chan for examples. One reason union field techs get paid so well is they also have to have judgement and common sense.
Drive drunk into a pedestrian and a policeman at 8:30 am? No common sense!
Spray cable cleaner on a fios drop to fix pixilation? No common sense!
Think that ladders are designed to be thrown onto service vans by 2 people? No common sense!
Argue that a 401K alone is better than a 401K AND a pension? No common sense!
They only folks without a pension are new hires and management, dope.
Every day you post the same thing.
Which tech job are you even talking about that is allegedly so easy?
The truth is tech jobs are not rocket science, but training and experience working in the actual job environment are very valuable. For example, is it an urban environment or rural? Different conditions in the field can make it seem like a completely different job.
Some construction techs in areas where I have worked were so knowledgeable about the plant that their foremen relied on them entirely. But even a simple POTS cable run for a single customer can be a difficult job in actual field conditions.
It is not such a simple thing to replace all field workers. And certainly not to replace them with office workers trained for 1 week in classroom conditions only. A lesson the company learned the hard way recently. Why don't you ease up on the propaganda and hate?
wow, I took 5 hours on a cable trouble.. but I swapped the pair and still took it as a cable trouble, took my truck pole to pole sat there and ate a doughnut and drank a coffee, went to next pole and talked on phone for awhile, and claimed I was productive.. meanwhile I took 5 hours on a pair swap and acted like I was chasing a cable trouble... we know what you do,,, just a matter of time, better milk it for all its worth..
"The only color I care about is green, as in pension money baby." Typical old Union mentality... f--- the other guys I have my pension, they don't but hey- Solidarity!!! Friggen sickening mentality...
The only color I care about is green, as in pension money baby.
So stupid. Knowing the color code is exactly 2% of the job. Experience beats all. Splicers who can hook a 60ft pole instead of turning the job back like a pussy, who have hacked into lead, who have spliced pulp are far more useful than you losers who managed to remember the rainbow.
Stop holding on to the past and go home to your fat, ugly blogs sitting in your trailer.
Make sure you call first so she can get her boyfriend out first. Or do you not mind if he stays as long as he buys the beer?
Blue orange green brown slate white red black yellow violet rose aqua. Watch out, depending on the exact cable the slate and white can look pretty similar. Aqua might look a bit too blue as well. I hate those.
No need for you to figure it out. You better figure out the Walmart credo.
