1anu, merit based pay is a lost concept on the union folks. DERP
Wow GE at it again, using "millenial thinking" to find new ways to screw employees
@1zlu Do you honestly think you're any better with your self-righteous and judgemental crap?! You're worse, in fact.
I was going to try to resist the Schadenfreude of hanging around this site for the next few months while the union-bashers and hot-dog managers slowly get the news that they're being sh---canned in favor of contractors and foreign workers and younger "gig economy" workers. Then I read this crap about "union thugs" and "marble heads" and "union sheeple" and I think, "No, I'll visit here every day and read about the tragedy of people in their late 40's and early 50's having their lives turned upside down so Saint Lowell The Clueless can get an extra million $."
Ok genius (OP), if you actually read the article then you would see that they aren't doing away with raises just the idea of only doing it once a year.....I know this is difficult to grasp but try to follow if you are able.....money isn't the only thing people look for in a job and companies are seeing that other benefits can be considered as "compensation" also they allude to performance based compensation (GASP) so if you pull off a great project in May but raises are only given out in April then you wouldn't see that for a year and that doesn't sit well with the younger workers. maybe if raises were given out when you actually perform well (when you actually complete something) then maybe people would work harder.... makes sense to me but then again obvious things oftentimes fall on marble heads........
Life is tough now, I have to get 4 jobs a day done in a 12 hours! I used to have to get 4 done in 8 hours! What am I supposed to do with all the extra money in my paycheck?
Grunge job, I guess you have no idea what I do.
Hey union pig, how many of your buddy's did you toss off today while "working" that nasty blue collar grunge job?
Managers don't need raises, they have college degrees and work for a living. A decline in quality of life is expected and earned by all the hard work they think they do. The privilege of being walked over by the company is all the thanks they need. No pension, rif threats, forced EWA, lack of job security, what else does a person need?
