Dumb Asses . EWA 6000.00 x 3. We just pulled in 20 grand to work a menial job . EWA going back to our IT, Engineering , Accounting or Lawyer jobs.

At my office, we dealt with 2 contractors, 6 EWA and 2 managers. Every time I called the MCO or DRC I spoke with someone who was often from the Wireless side of the company.
Quite frankly, they were more pleasant to deal with then most of craft members there were temp replacing. Truth is truth. The EWA were great to deal with.
@rva. Do you have a clue? Most EWA people are Verizon employees, not contractors. We are accountants, lawyers, engineers, IT developers, etc. We did another job for a few weeks to keep the company going while you went wa wa to Union daddy. Many of us have zero contact with the dying landline side of the business. We now go back to our own jobs on growing areas of the company. Thank goodness. Now go back to your job and have fun with your direct supervisors. I am sure that will be lovely.
In the end, it comes to this, the EWAs padded their savings, and the Union people used their savings. That's really what it all comes down. Now, where I was, we were ahead of things, and waiting for work to come in, all after week 2. The remained 4 weeks we cleaned up SAC boxes (most of which looked like a spaghetti dinner exploded) and cable vaults and did grooming to enable future rings.
wow $6000 pay big deal. the way u are talking going to Hawaii , u will be broke again in a month, and really if u had a good paying job to begin with you would have never been a scab because if the job was so good your company you work for would have never let you off not knowing how long the strike would have been, and if you are a private contractor, I guess jobs must be far and between for you to drop everything to be a scab.....Also enjoy those high taxes you will be paying on those big checks,...Now to the person who said we will be sold to Frontier, you are not thinking correctly are you...If we get sold to Frontier, why would Verizon or Frontier need management anymore...lol...And one other thing, you would need more than a few months, to do my job you need 3 years of working on the network like I do before you totally know what you are doing, Plus if you most know I also have a degree in Telecommunications, and we know most of you scabs where nothing more than hired cable installers....
It is a shame there are Union people who simply do not understand that all they can do in life is telephone work. That is there career. On the other hand the EWA's for the most part are highly educated, skilled and have multiple companies and opportunities. The same for management, none of them fear a RIF as they all know they can take their background and work somewhere else.
The Union folks should sit back and wait to see what happens to their ranks. To quote someone else, "The Devil is in the detail" and what ever that detail is, changes nothing about the fact the EWA's are far more employable than us craft employees. Not to mention, I have yet to hear any of them complain about the company or their job. I cannot say that about my fellow craft member.
Come on, I was on training 10 months ago for 4 days :), forgot everything by EWA time and yet, after initial struggle I was restoring service for many customers. Sure I can't yet compete with a pro doing same thing for 20 years, but this job is not difficult and after 3-4 months I would be as good as average Joe.
Now you go to software development classes for 4 days and than get thrown into production issues, and I will see how you holding up :) But you know what, I won't go that far and doubt your ability to tell keyboard and mouse apart :)

@HCm is exactly right. We are all going back to good jobs. Sure, we could get RIF'd, but most of us won't. You will probably get sold off to Frontier and we will not be each others' problems in 4 years. I appreciate the hard work you do and EWA made me appreciate it even more-- but jesus some of this rhetoric. If you hate Verizon so much, then I really don't know why you want to work here so badly.

Why you mad bro? The pedigreed college educated EWAs are not going under a rock ; they are going back to their work from home jobs making more than what you settled for in the "new contract". After they take that Hawaiin vacation with all the time and a half from hour 41 to 52 and double time 52 to 72 hours . They were bringing in 6000.00 clear paychecks! Dumb Ass
