Nice win for the unions. We only had to give up 7 weeks pay. In return we get pretty much the same deal that was on the table 6 weeks ago plus one minor give-back on relocation. We even got back 3-4 days of pay! All the EWAs got was 7 weeks of OT with no living expenses for doing our jobs.
BTW, what do you want to be that any call centers coming back to the US will be in Right-to-Work states?

This is why most think our union members are on the lower end of the gene pool. OP does getting a contract mean being sold out? You should all thank everyone on EWA for supporting the very customers you will be returning for.

In truth, VZ has been making the lives of both craft and non-craft personnel miserable for quite some time. There are better ways of doing business, but the top brass doesn't want them implemented because they could possibly lose some of their compensation/perks.
Seidenberg was no saint and has done a lot of messed up things from an employee perspective, but McAdam is a billion times worse. The culture that he and his cronies have brought to VZ is counterproductive and poisonous and will negatively affect the company's bottom line in the long run. He doesn't care because he'll be long since gone by then.
as an EWA'er I couldn't care less. I made a pile of money and in the process kept the company moving. Thanks for the cash.
