Union walked out,not Lowells fault. Union upper managment keeps their healthcare and pay.
what time is the meeting?
I am sure a lot of folks whether union or not want to know the conclusion as this may be the last one before May 1 and it will be the turning point if the strike will be long or short.
anybody know?
Correction : Lowell knew that if the union didn't bargain he would cancel the healthcare.
To the union folks (serious question here).
Why did you not go out on 2 May or 2 April, and have a full month of health care vs 3+ weeks.
No a huge difference.
Just wondering?
vhp and ozj are exactly right. The union knew their healthcare would end on May 1 when they started this strike.
It's not Lowell's fault or responsibility that the union chose to go that direction.
I don't think Lowell cares. Honestly most of the country doesn't have any sympathy for unions that walk out on their jobs. NY/NJ as a whole views unions far differently than the majority of other states, especially in the south.
Lowell didn't order the union to go on strike; that decision was made by the union. It's not Lowell's responsibility to provide free healthcare for people that refuse to come to work.
Sorry, but that headline isn't something that anyone besides the people striking will have a problem with.
@aly That headline would be incorrect, he isn't choosing to cancel their healthcare. Those who are on strike and the union are choosing to go with out pay and benefits.
My intuition says That Lowell won't want this headline : CEO Cancels Healthcare For 50,000 + Women and Children covered under Verizon associates ( union). IT would be the worst PR. Although Verizon did not too long ago look at moving EVeryone to obamacare exchanges ( yes even you mgmt)
