No one has to pay for COBRA and everyone in their right mind knows that there are far cheaper options out there.

The only thing I know COBRA is expensive. There are about 40000 CWAers and IEBWers, I assume those union employees who eligible for CWA paying the COBRA premium need wait a long time for fund director to review and determination. Most of them have to pay the COBRA by themselves except they can obtain health care coverage through spouse or parents. It might be ok with unemployment benefits and 200 dollars a week from union. But it could be a tough choice (crossing or not) for some union employees who live in some states with no unemployment benefits during a strike.

That is exactly what is going to happen! If the union members think for one sec that the bosses have their backs they are wrong. They will NEVER go into their coffers and pony up cash. The union leadership is no different then the VZ exec's and don't give a sh** about their people, its all about the almighty dollor
Watch this board by Sunday and witness the spin the union will put out there on way they are going back to work. This was a total waste of time for not only the union but the EWA's as well
BTW, I am not a union member, just a spouse of an EWA person who wants this all to end.
