Has led to massive inbreeding and boneheaded leadership.

High potential for what ????
"Pull off a failed T-Mobile merger and pay a 4 billion dollar fee, buy a mature satellite TV business and lose subs and buy a studio and fire all the talent, not to mention load up the company with debt!!"
Now that is leadership only att could be proud of.
@132krvPa-yfd what a joke - you assume people on this board are not the chosen few well I have cleaned up the chosen few work up many times. I never met a so called leader at att that was worthy of being called a leader. we are the sorry whatever that means. att can keep its so called leaders that is one of the main reasons I left on my own was because all the so called leaders and geniuses think they know what they are doing while the people who clean up their mess and actually make it work get no credit. att will be nothing but leaders who will look around one day and all try to lead each other with their thumb up you know what. I have seen so called leaders make directors with NO ONE under them. How can you call that a leader. Only att pulls that trick. I wouldn't be bragging about being a leader at att it isn't much to brag about.
@132krvPa-yfd, can you provide more info as to which org. runs this program and what has been the outcome from it in the last few years.
I haven’t seen any folks from MDP get promoted up. Last 2 years in digital, they were begging for people to sign up for MDP, as you have to self elect. Of all the folks I spoke with, everyone said why? You don’t get anything from it but more work. We are already overloaded.
LDP is another story. Sadly you can’t get into that program as a current att employee. I know, I asked HR how I could get into that.
Cya T, only a few more months to go.

Well, that would be wrong. You get asked if you are interested in being a part of the group if you’ve shown quality leadership skills. It does not mean you get promoted. As a matter of fact, my guess is less than 3% of all HIPO candidates ever get promoted to a 3rd line. Those jobs are typically for people out of the college LDP program. I’ve been in the HIPO program (3 years running) and saw all of one person get a 3rd line. It’s a get noticed, do homework, and present a project in front of some VPs. So let’s not call it inbreeding, which is disingenuous. It’s actually quite a smart program to keep talented individuals from leaving. And that’s part of the companies job. Keep good, get rid of sorry. I’m no longer part of the program, simply because I no longer want a 3rd line job. When I’m done with work I don’t want homework or working on a project to present. Others love that stuff. It’s not for me, and probably most on this board.
Seen some of the smartest most productive people leave creating massive knowledge vacuum for a long time. Couldn't get promoted so they left without a care for their former job and rightfully so. ATT wants leaders even if they March you straight into the ambushes.... T-Mobile, Direct TV, Time Warner, Destruction of HBO.....Leaders!!!
