You are all so far off base it's laughable. The decision maker in your layoff is much closer to home than you may think. Humana gets the blame for which individuals are laid off but it's your own coach who does the scoring. I don't like that Humana lay people off but it's your coach who makes the decision of who gets it.

I agree that the layoffs are a combination of salary, length of service and age. Humana is getting rid of amazing, highly engaged associates because they have been excellent or full performers. This means that they have received nice increases all these years. I will join the discrimination lawsuit if there us one.

@12Bzx4OY-capj You are crazy. Did you read the Diversity report that came out this week. If 50% of those 10,000 layoffs were over 50 we would know it. AND they did not lay off 10'000 people. I have as much to fear from a layoff as you but don't come spreading lies and made up numbers.

Age discrimination is bad

Humana employees need to prepare themselves. We know lay offs are coming. Its the way Humana operates - laying off on an incremental basis - dividing and conquering. Over the past several years they have officially laid off over 10,000 thousand employees, countless others have been driven out the door - all the while their stock continues to skyrocket. Over 50% of those laid off have been over the age of 50. We know it will surely happen again. We simply don't have the date. I would suggest organizing. Get together into a group of older, long term employees who are concerned about being laid off. Remember the motto Humana used when attempting their merger strategy - 'together we are stronger' . In this scenario the saying definitely applies. Contact a labor attorney, present your concerns, the facts about the ages and numbers previously laid off. I believe that there is a strong basis for an age discrimination class action law suit here. If successful, the settlement amount will be huge. This is precisely what Humana does not want.
