Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Truce for survival, he Is an animal!!!

Randy did it again, discussing changes at AT&T that could include a commitment to review assets for possible sale or spinoff of the wireline to a newly created subsidiary, who asked not to be identified the discussions aren’t public but AT&T could also shuffle its board.

Directly from the Elliot letter:

Wireline: While combating the structural challenges associated with legacy voice and data products, AT&T’s business wireline unit is improving, fueled by fast-growing strategic and managed services. Last quarter’s underlying wireline growth rate was the best in more than three years, and EBITDA exhibited even stronger performance. With its unique global scale, growing fiber footprint, strong presence at the edge and world-leading enterprise brand, AT&T is the only provider capable of meeting the needs of scale businesses for the long term.

There is no new articles talking about wireline specifically being spun off, just you some guesses thrown around like facts. People commmented that they saw this on popular financial sites, but no links. Good luck to all.

However, this review should not be limited to "smaller"businesses: Any assets that do not have a clear, strategic rationale for being part of AT&T should be considered for divestment: DirecTV, the Mexican wireless operations, pieces of the wireline footprint, and other assets must all be evaluated as part of this review. Several of these larger assets are no longer complementary with the Company’s future strategic direction, and AT&T must determine whether there is a financially and strategically attractive path to divesting them

@11zrwhD0-1hkh Absolutely nothing in this article about spinning off wireline as a subsidiary as was said in previous comments. Would you like to try again? Are you also condescending and wrong all the time at work too?

Wireline is not the loss we thought it was? That's. Not. Right. Wireline is a huge money lower. Frontier went 100% wireline and is nearly bankrupt!

With the news today that T and Elliott Management are discussing next steps including spinning off landline to a new controlled subsidiary, the stock is up 1.3% in after hours trading!! Getting rid of that outdated landline business and customers will be great for the bottom line and if we can get rid of these landline hacks like Stephenson, Stankey, etc this company can soar!!! @$45 or more a share that will be more in the retirement pot and that dividend income is sweet too especially compared to working for pay. Good luck to all. Investment income is so much better and lucrative than working like an Archie Bunker type

These dummies never got the clue that when you own the best roads, ROI from a proper toll structure created the stable revenue to facilitate their bad purchases.

Wireless is cute 'n all, but when you want to get real work done you plug in a cable. Maybe this spin off will expose wire service is not the loss they constantly spin it as?

Seeing similar discussions in some the better Financial sites - seems that Paul Singer of Elliot Management got to the right person.

Interesting that instead of the mainstream press reports of spinning off DirecTV, these latest posts suggest spinning off wireline instead.

Makes sense given this sector has been dead for well over a decade and no one wants to buy that dated technology. The last great buy of wireline was Frontier buying out Verizon's copper and that has turned out to be a slow death for Frontier.

Pushing wireline out into it's own holding company would shed most of the costs but still allow T to skim cash from the top as well as not having to publicly admit they screwed up in buying DirecTV.

Might just work.

It appears that Elliot provided a list of board members that must be replaced. &;Randy boy did not like that!

Good then we can build out the fiber network finally, and make some money instead of dragging our a– on fiber like we have been for years.
