@2bsp, didn't say SSIM wasn't important, they most definitely are...but many of them are sitting there with very little to no work and not getting surplused while C&E I&M is covered up with work and still getting surplused
SSIM’s too important to surplus. We know all the new and old technology.
Apparently not SSIM...911 folks on the last D3 SE surplus list, not a single one from SSIM. A lot of areas with a lot of thumb twiddling going on.
Hopefully they contract out the work the field dinks do. Our union workers are lazy and unproductive and we can save lots of money using more efficient and knowledgeable contractors. We need to drive the stock price up so those of us who own lots can get some capital gains :)

I know a couple of mobility guys in my area in the same situation as you. No tickets, almost no work. Survival mode all day. And no one from their management said nothing or “don’t know nothing”. But contractors like mastec and Ericsson are very busy on the sites. This silence is so loud....
Mostly managers reckon cause they born with a yellow streak and they’re lazy. Get out now before your beat out.
I don't think AT&T could pay a company to take DigitalLife. It was executed by people still living in the 1980s. AT&T is so far behind the curve. They are the leader of the rear of the pack.

As per announcement, 1.1 million wireless customers in PR. Roughly half the island population have AT&T services. That’s not counting their wireline customers. Impressive to me...
How profitable were the Puerto Rico operations? Just don’t see a huge number of that population paying 150-200 monthly.

Thats my guess. Mobility. We’re SOOOO slow. All of our work has gone to contractors. Sure, there are areas where some guys are busier. But nationally that’s not the case. I work in a large metro area, all we do is create our own bs tickets to stay busy. Door lock code changes, weed control etc. I honestly don’t even know the last time I’ve used a hand tool.
It’s seems like nobody is out of reach. With the move at&t made yesterday in Puerto Rico, giving up on one of its cash cow BU, Mobility (wireless). They appear to be willing to sell its wireless operations. As far as I know one of the most profitable business for at&t right now. This is not good for sure.
The Uverse platform will be going away along with the majority of the headcount.
Xandr is next. The new privacy laws will keep this from earning as much profit as expected.

Now that at&t has abandoned Puerto Rico, next in line will be AT&T Mexico for sure. Of course they a trying to find a super hero to buy DTV but that is more difficult. Network assets sale will continue and move to the states because they think at&t is now a media company, no longer a telecom. Will insist in this until at&t be barely a corp with such a small employee and infrastructure footprint. Insane!!!!!!
@kus To this point how could AT&T take care of liabilities $$$$ if not selling assets ? This clowns have put this company is a precarious position.
