11rsFuaK-1sxr. For AT&T Shares in the RSP account go to Net Benefits and look under activity. Dividends were paid in my account 10/9

Wondering if this classifies as another rebadging case, for the AT&t Puerto Rico employees. Like the IBM ones..... 🤔

Remember, the reason AT&T can contemplate share buybacks, as opposed to paying down its debt is entirely due to the Federal Reserve and its low interest rate policy. The rate is so low that Apple, with $200B in cash is borrowing, perceiving that with these interest rates, they're getting something for nothing, which is something called "moral hazard".

As a result of all this cheap money, there has been liquidity problems, so the Federal Reserve has resumed printing money to purchase debt from the debt markets and put it on the books of the Fed, which is called quantitative easing.

This "capitalism" which is governmental manipulation of the "free" market is why it has been my call to first buy (at $30), and now hold AT&T stock because the dividend represents an attractive alternative to a bank deposit. And if they can contemplate buying stock back, that dividend should be secure. I have enough eggs in the AT&T basket, so I'm holding, and not worrying about it in the short term.

$158,000 Million = $158 Billion

Read carefully before pushing the trigger. As you should be carefully reading company e-mails also. 😂 🙃

Good way to make money, sell off your customers. Sounds like a leading with distinction topic for next year. Same boneheaded move when they sold off their assets in Connecticut and then realized after the fact that it might have been a good way to bridge back into the New York City market.

But instead they stream through video data centers in Ohio, etc which cause massive buffering and lag.

"AT&T also said shareholders should expect buybacks in the fourth quarter as it aims at balancing its debt and profit."

Every dollar that goes towards stock buybacks is a dollar that isn't reinvested in the business, paid to employees, or used to price products more competitively.

Today's AT&T (e.g., SBC): Imagine the nicest, largest house in your area. You may drive by it on occasion and think "Wow, that''s a really nice house." Little do you know that the folks inside are eating ramen noodles 3x daily, AND every month they sell a few pieces of the silverware, AND every quarter they decide they really don't need all those messy beds, so the occupants just start to share sleeping quarters, AND they decide they don't really need to use all of the lights, so they unscrew and re-purpose light bulbs as they burn out, AND they decide they don't really need clean drinking water, so they start recycling the dish water through a coffee filter. Get the picture?

AT&T will be selling its Puerto Rico / USVI footprint for 1,950 million bucks. Well below its market value of almost 3,000 million. Interesting fact. AT&T said it is trying to tackle 158,000 million in debt. So, spect more hot sales specials of assets. Great job C-suite!!! Way to go, mo–nS!!!

@11rsFuaK-aao ,The fact that you’re posting on this board tells me YOU do lmao.
Or do you want us to believe you’re one of the elite executives at a&t ? If you’re L2 or below management , you need a union most of all. Management getting screwed worse than craft lol

This is a warning and just the beginning of what is going to happen next in the mainland. Rapid assets/companies divestment and employees offloading on to 2020 and beyond. First mayor call... Folks, prepare for what’s coming... Winter 🥶

I gotta laugh at those who rejoice at the downfall of the unions. It just means you , a worker, will get less pay and less benefits as the executive teams and the board reward themselves more and more. I never understood why some employees rejoice so much in getting screwed financially. As the unions lose more and more influence across the nation , the middle class loses. It’s not a coincidence. Keep believing the big lie: trickle down economy, which has been proven false over and over again. Workers who don’t support unions are just hurting themselves and the middle class in the long run

They need to get rid of their BIG losing BUs (i.e. DTV) and fire Stankey & Randall. The existing leadership team should be held accountable for mismanagement and possible financial crimes/fraud. Like ENRON!!!!!

I see that happening more in the mainland in the future. Cash flow will eventually slowdown from wireless and when that happens anything could happen.

So, the clueless execs are doing this in 2019 so they can get their monstrous bonuses. What happens in 2020 when the business runs out of assets, land, buildings that can be so easily sold…?

So did the At&t employees themselves only learn about this today when it was announced on CNBC? That’s a fine howdy do if the employees didn’t get any heads up before hand.
