Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Once again for the illogical. The reason you state that you want to work from home is it's easier, less effort/work to stay at home than go to the office. So, by your own definition, your goal is to do less, and avoid work. You are paid by your employer to do a job and we all agree you owe them work for said payment. You owe them the same work, regardless of location you perform the work at. But you say you plan to do less at the office than at home. So right there you are admitting you are not doing the work your owe the company at the office.

@jhm- glad for you that you can work at home again! Is that the norm for Tech M?

I was working from home for years, NEVER "took a nap". They sent me into the office a few months ago. I was up at 6am, made the commute in. By 2pm I was exhausted in that office & needed a nap! Now that I'm being outsourced to Tech M, no more office, back working from home. I am much more productive and once again, I don't need a darn nap because I'm not commuting.

It's not necessarily required to sleep during work hours, but if you see people sleeping in the offices, when they aren't being watched, then it follows they will sleep even better when they are at home not being watched. People keep claiming they are more productive working from home, yet they never say they don't sleep, do chores, or whatever they like at home. It's because they are already so lazy in the office, it's easy to knock out some work then take a nap. Stop bragging like you are so productive at home, when you know you are comparing it to sitting around doing next to nothing at work.

No commuting means less need to wake up super early. The sleep isn't necessarily during work hours.

It's sound logic. You got people who only work 30% of the time at the office, but if they work from home they work 40% of the time and are more productive since they just finished their nap from the other 60% of free time.

You are really stretching if you think that makes AT&T a hypocrite. Stop the nonsense pretending everyone is more productive working from home. They do surveys asking people who work from home if they are more productive and what a shock they write down on the survey the get more done. Here's my favorite one, "study revealed that 45% of remote workers reported getting more sleep." No c-ap they are sleeping more.

Att is a hypocrite since it benefits from more people working from home both personally (more productive employees) and from more business (high speed internet connections into homes/apartments.

Most teams are spread all over the US. So there is no point to go into your local collaboration zone in Atlanta just to talk to team members in NJ, Seattle, and Dallas.
