Yep. Had that calendar invite for a zoom call Sunday evening for Monday morning.
Given the news. Told that a lot of others received the same news.
Very unfortunate to hear about so many of us, who are clearly talented and experienced in the product lines we support, being let go like this. It was good while it lasted, but it stings.
This turned out to be true, they told me my job will now be completely outsourced to our India team. Oracle has lost its ways and it doesn’t seem like ODC will ever recover pre Facebook.
Lots of the remaining people are now shooked and will be looking elsewhere. Anybody that isn’t looking will carry the workload of the team members that got laid off/leaving without any additional compensation.
230 people or ~15% of the ODC. Chopped.
Received an invite from my manager. Really hoping it’s a role change, but preparing for the worst.
Sure you can learn to code but that doesn’t mean you will be successful as a developer. Besides, software development will be an early casualty of the coming AI revolution. Consider that the world needs ditch diggers too.

Yup, they are shutting down products and laying off all the employees in the usa. Training people in India to keep the product afloat or gambling of they will be able to save the products. Good luck to people at Oracle. Leave before you are screwed too
I've been through that layoff training. You must follow a script. In 2016 I laid off 14 people in one day. A year later I was laid off. It took me over a year to land something new (I'm 59), but I LOVE my new job and company. Oracle did me a huge favor. Be not afraid!

Heard from an internal source close to an ODC manager that went through the 'layoff training": Zoom invites will go out Sunday evening for 15-minute layoff call on Monday. Check your email Sunday eve to see if you receive an invite.

Yep, it’s confirmed. If you’re in sales or marketing, you’ll be hit hard. Some products will be completely deprecated, along with the engineers.
