The union just told us last week that as of now there is no package on the table. Not even being discussed.

Rumor has been brewing here in NYC for awhile, its obvious Fios is slow not much work. Techs doing routine work to cover time or safety videos. Most of senior techs with 25 years or more ready to leave waiting on buyout, or ride it out till contract ends 2023. It will be a mass exodus either way. Good luck everyone.

Third line of just told my foreman that he thinks that this garage is going to be about half full a few months from now
@ixse i heard there currently is a back and forth between the company and union. The company wants to discuss making temps permanent in January after the buyout. The union wants assurance that they will be made first. While the eisp is now in cwa contract surplus must be declared and that might affect making temps permanent.
@ixse @iuh is ignorant to the facts. When they did the 6&6 there is no penalty for the older members, just no benefit to the added age.. They got whatever worked out better. The 6 extra on time in title will always help as an extra 6 in the multiplier. The 6 years of age benefits younger members since it opens up the pool of potential takers. Any member as young as 44 with 24 years of service and above would become eligible to leave. That being said it is not happening anytime soon, at least not until they make the temps permanent or job complete them.
@ttm couldn't they cap it 25, 30 years? If you already have the years and age then you wouldn't get added 4? This is only a ? , not looking for a beat down🙂

Actually if they did something like a 4+4 it would hurt a lot of the older people. It would reduce the lump sum . They would have to have different offers .
The union is the last to know. I think they go to them after they have an offer ready. and its not like they need the union's permission anyway.
