Who has been in top positions for the past 10 years?
Failed TMobile Acquisition was outlay of $6 Billion in Spectrum and Cash which eventually cost $40-$50 Billion Market Cap.
Direct TV $80 Billion outlay and you couldn't get $40 Billion for it today.
Time Warner $90B and so far it appears HBO the Pinnacle of that acquisition is going to get gutted and Stankied.
So far all I have seen is the ability to burn value at an incredible pace. What is the board doing if anything?

Too Big To Fail ! That is what they are going for. Make the company so big that it would take a huge conglomerate to purchase the company. Also by purchasing more assets you can tie their earnings in with the new asset to cover up the under-performing assets.
The investment firms holding large quantities of T stock control the board and nominate replacements. Until they dislike the officers, you'll see no changes.
Accountability is for the little people. The entire economy, not just AT&T is run for the benefit of the people who have managed to game a phony meritocracy. Do you see any merit to any leader today?
And the sad thing is everyone continues to sit here and work for them instead of going out and finding something better.
Our current fearless leader married into the position he currently holds. He was never appointed due to his vast knowledge and intelligence.
Why Ed Whitacre ever promoted the clown is on of the great mysteries of life, in my opinion. smdh
There is a combination of people not guiding their superiors prudently and those superiors actually thinking they are the smartest in the business. It's an incestuous cycle that has Stankey thinking he can chase off Pflefler and turn HBO into something the consumer isn't asking for and somehow come out better in the end. No sense of the culture at HBO in quality over quantity so what talent will hang around for the telecom hammer and nails guy.
Always entertaining to see the phoniest Town Hall Q and A's. Almost all employees and customers hate their guts to the core. Once HBO has been ransacked and burnt to the ground AT&T will be associated with the likes of Enron and WorldCom.
The board , execs, and Randall are all very happy with each other. So are the banks. Every time they do a merger and acquisition , they all get a huge piece. Millions in bonuses for all who are in on the deal. This is all about THEM and their bank accounts , not the employees or the company itself. They will all be long gone doing the same at another company or retired long before the carnage is really evident across At&t. You aint seen nothing yet. Att will be the next Sears eventually.
The only accountability that exists is the totals on how many outsourcing contracts you created. You get more credit the bigger the contract.
