After Strike Ends

Heard from management that after the strike is over Att plans to force 6 day work weeks and overload us with work for a month or so.

It’s not that busy anyway. Most customers cancel after the salesman promises when the job will be complete and due date comes around and their still on Spectrum. The sales / management that give false expectations will be fired this month.

6 days for me means im getting off at exactly 4:30 every day, regardless of load status. All hours worked on my “O” day count towards the OT cap. I will hit my cap in 1 day and cruse the rest of the week. If anything i will be spending more time with my family during the week seeing as how i will be home earlier..😁

Speaking from AFO-Business Services, we have been able to maintain just fine so far, without incident, thanks to some great effort and exceptional skill from the CP management workforce. Are we working 12+ hours a day = Yes. Is it fun = No, but we have very thick skin and will continue to serve AT&T Business customers as best we can until the regular union workers return to work.

The reality is that the CP workforce cannot keep up with the load demands based strictly on numbers. Most CP Supervisors are performing all of the actual work and the CP workers are just tagging along as they have no idea what to do. It’s not rocket science. Uprooting current management level employees from their full-time engineering, sales, network design, and support jobs to go out and handle tech work at any level is frivolous. Not a knock at all for those folks as if you tried to put craft/bargained for employees in those job functions it would end in complete disaster if it was the other way around. We have been able to handle most critical/emergency situations so far and will continue to do so without incident. That will be the model until the organized labor workforce reports back to work. Nothing else to talk about.

Make as much OT as possible
Make more than your manager - if you choose to stay - cash in
Set aside any thought of work life balance bare down and make enough to find something else
First lines will be worked just as hard and longer hours

It's thankless - look on the bright side - let's get paid
