Just scrolled through the treads on this board and I didn’t see anyone reporting layoffs happening. More or less folks are debating on other subjects. Does that mean that layoffs at nor happening at Sam’s at this moment, or have people just gotten tired of reporting them?

Not enough quality associates left to work as it is. Can't afford any layoffs
Oh I don't know. Seems like they just laid off 40% of their senior pharmacist staff of the Wal-Mart side and cleaned out the Ethics department in the home office a few weeks ago. (Wal-Mart Ethics.....the Maytag repairmen of the company! Loneliest office in Bentonville!) I guess they're taking a breather until they drop the bomb again in January after the Christmas sales season.
@1gze - I concur. Either they practice the divine art of contraction through actively letting people go, not replacing people who leave, or in one fell swoop by way of closure. It's been a nearly constant thing the last 8 or 9 years. This company has revolutionized the entire practice via every possible method known, and probably unknown, too.
More to come. Right now they are just not filling positions as people leave. Another way to downsize by attrition...
