Broadcom just issued statement that Qualcomm transferred assets from itself to NXPI shareholders in a breach of fiduciary duty. Hock-san, is not that you were doing? Raiding QCOM coffer for greedy AVGO shareholder? Poof go billion dollars.
Buh Bye Blue
NXP closes before shaeholder mtg Hock walk. Dividend increase. Yeppers!
Frankly, I welcome Broadcom
Many people have been saying this, albeit less verbosely: Broadcom would strengthen productive parts and get rid of unproductive parts of the company. I would actually be happy about that, because I work in a productive part of the company, and I am... — read more
Qualcommageddon?
Usually all three of the following events trigger massive layoffs. 1 - Company aquiring another company (QC, NXP) 2 - Company being aquired by another (BRCM aquiring QC) 3 - Company announcing massive cost saving Imagine what would happen when all... — read more
The way out of those dark days
Q has some treasures that are not being valued properly. SM and PJ are awesome executives that made the company what it is and can salvage the ship. AVGO board is nothing but incompetent losers. I would encourage the board to cut off all engineer pay... — read more
Do not send resumes to Apple or Intel
These companies are not accepting resumes from QC anymore, sorry seems like good people already left and left overs will not be considered by these companies good Luck!!
You get laid off, when you get laid off
Either way, if Broadcom acquires Qualcomm and Broadcom performs synergistic merges or if Broadcom does not acquire Qualcomm and Qualcomm has to do some major cost reductions. So just focus on your work and don't get distracted on how or when you get... — read more
Is this all rumor or is it based in Fact?
I've heard lots of rumors about massive layoffs coming and no severance package. Is this based in fact or just rumor?
New logo: what were they thinking?
The new Q looks like the Quartz logo in use for years (qz.com). The original Q logo had some thought put into it. And the company is going to layoff engineers to pay for a new department of clowns?
Just a quick survey here
Who voted/will vote white and who voted/will vote blue?
Hope there is no collusion
It's getting interesting now with the ISS recommendation of 4 BRCM appointees. It could now come down to the two JANA appointees to break the tie. Those two arrived on the QCOM board under somewhat questionable circumstances. I still think AAPL was... — read more
Severance package in danger
ISS recommended to Qualcomm shareholders that they vote for four out of the six board director nominees. If that happens, it would not qualify as a CIC event. As a result, all layoffs in up coming $1billion cost cut will lose severance package... — read more
Be understanding
I have noticed some pretty insensitive commentd about the potential for layoffs telling people to get over it. That's not a bad attitude to have if you have been out of school 2 years. There are many people that have been at the Q 10, 15, or 20+... — read more
Is QRC relevant anymore after the so-called split?
What will happen to the legacy of dubious promotions that Charlie and his gang had going? Did you know, there are more directors and principal engineers than engineers and seniors in CRD. All thanks to nepotism. CRD's staff engineers with 5 years... — read more
Good Luck Everybody!
The future is very uncertain but I am grateful for the short time I have been with Qualcomm. It is amazing so many different people from all over the world can come together to create so many wonderful things. I am honored to work here but will go... — read more

QCOM says it will cut $1B but Broadcom will have to cut $10B (ten times the layoff)
Broadcom plans to borrow $100B to buy QCOM, so the interest on that will be around 10% (junk bonds) and $10B interest per year. Even if they sell off divisions of QCOM to some chinese company (good luck if you are in those divisions, goodbye to gym... — read more

Does women get promoted at BRCM?

Detailed Education on Broadcom
While anxiety is understood, given uncertainty, there is a lot of chatter about BRCM being "Chinese" company, taking China Debt, BRCM will stifle innovation. It saddens me to see highly qualified folks (i presume...) are making assumptions, without... — read more

QCOM stock $67 on March 21, 2012, no joke
And they want you to think $82 is not full value. Current management has been unable to get stock above that number EVER! Now they freeze hiring and plan HUGE layoff. Incompetent financial planning. Starts at the top. Sorry CFO, time for you to go.
Interviewed at a top 3 tech company recently
and none of the interviewers knew what Snapdragon was. Pretty much no one knows what Snapdragon in the companies I've interviewed at. And many of them have phones that have a Snapdragon. Is there a reason why there is no marketing?
Don’t worry guys !
don’t give up team! Now more than ever we have to work together and do our very very best! We are Better Together! Go Qualcomm! One team! One dream! Yes we can!
Pieces falling into place
1) ISS auditors seen all around the buildings yesterday 2) Hiring freeze announced with no transfers allowed 3) PJ softening the rhetoric and talking about selling now 4) PTE moved under Ops Seems like layoffs are on the way
Does Google have a presence in SD? Anything HW in SD?
Hi. Does Google have a presence in SD yet? Anyone have contacts in other high-tech HW companies here?
Some came to Qualcomm for security, stability
Bad move. You won't find it here, prepare for mass layoffs.

If you want to be laid off, then vote for Broadcom

Blue Is The Color Of The Skies
How Is that NXP tender offer coming along? What about all the open legal issues? Guys, we are getting impatient....
With large shareholders interested in the Broadcom proposal,
Qualcomm appears to be a bit more receptive. Simply put, Qualcomm has thawed a bit to Broadcom's overture.
White / Blue
Hey - I work for an unrelated company but sometimes read all boards here. What's this White Blue stuff. I know Broadcom is looking into acquiring Qualcomm and you guys do not want to be sold.
So what to poster below I just shredded another White.
QC keeps sending so many "white" proxy cards it's embarrassing never in 20 + years hae they ever sent more than 1. NXP will not go through so either way Qc is done. Broadcom buys us great some get to keep our jobs. QC stays QC great some of us lose... — read more
