Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Relief

Displaced last week and honestly I am feeling relieved. After 20+ years with Wells, I am so disappointed at what has become of it. I used to brag about what a great company it was. Many mergers were handled well but then standards went out the window. All for one word: Greed.
I knew when they said nobody is going to "run it like they own it" anymore things were going to go from bad to worse. Those of us who ran it like we own it had so much pride in our performance. Our performance could be measured by how the app ran with little to no defects.
I am relieved, partly because I don't want to be around watching others being let go. And for those who stay I know it's going to get worse before it gets better. It will get better but it will be painful.

Well, they hire restructuring external company and do anonymous employee survey. It is # which matters, not quality. Leadership from wells may not be still there who ordered structuring. Layoff is one of the draw back of being employee. I observed at other companies too. Any senior leader who pulled leg of colleague, must go. Any body who disagree by 1% must go.

I disagree on greed. I think abject stupidity and egotism is firmly entrenched. I am glad you are getting a well deserved break and career reboot!

There's a reason why CS is affectionately known as "Chainsaw Charlie". Now it's WF turn to find out....

@rov+184bJtKn, you think corporate greed got here two years ago?

It's always been here, and it's not currently any more or less greedy than it's ever been.

This is a bank, and a corporation, and it lives to extract wealth from you and pass it to Wall Street.

Corporate greed finally came to Wells Fargo about two years ago.

Good luck. You are probably fortunate to be let go now and get 40 weeks of severance. I fully anticipate CS and team will cut severance policy in half. Do I have any insight ? No. Basing this strictly on the type of guy he seems to be
