If you seen the latest letter from Phil to employees it’s the same stuff.. I once admire him, now he’s just pathetic. He’s trying to rally troops that he really doesn’t care about because if he did he’d get rid of the elt and bring in anyone who knows the industry and knows what makes nike special. Phil has lost his luster and in his words “this isn’t my nike” says a lot about how he’s given up.

PK just cares about flying his jet to palm springs every weekend.
Phil is 86. He does not care about us minions. He's got his billions and is knocking on death's door.
This is the letter you get with your meager "cost of labor" raise this year
If he wants to get back to wining he needs to can the entire Nike coaching staff aka leadership team. He made a poor hire who has gone the equivalent of 3-9 for the past few seasons. This won’t get any better by blaming the players aka employees. Hire a new coach and staff if you wanna win. I doubt u of O would be as tolerant of losing seasons.
I think this is in reference to a letter supposedly sent from Phil to Olympic Nike endorsement athletes and coaches as shown in this article today:
https://www.oregonlive.com/business/2024/07/phil-knight-tries-to-rally-nike-family-ahead-of-summer-olympics.html
He may have signed it, but I highly doubt that Phil wrote this letter. It doesn't sound like his writing style and is too closely worded with the new Nike Olympic brand anthem to be authenticly authored by him. Like most messaging from Nike's leadership, it comes across as fake and uninspiring in my opinion.
Winning isn’t for everyone, certainly not for Nike anymore.
what latest letter from Phil? where is this?
@zja Just watched the ad. Definitely don’t Iike it and I’ve loved so many of their ads. Feels aggressive and in your face vs inspiring.
who made the "winning isnt for everyone" ad. NIKE ads used to inspire. they lost that lust.
