Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Saul su-ks

He is Charlie’s Wall Street protege and acts just like him. Mass layoffs since he took over CSBB but plenty of funds for him and his cronies to travel the globe on the corporate dime. Being paid millions each year but no clue how to make WF competitive against peers. Branches expected to pick up the slack and meet goals but products and experience offered by WF are ultimately not desirable to consumers. People in the branch being paid a penance then are the ones blamed for poor numbers. The leadership here is complete garbage.

I’ll call BS on this. What was the question and when was this?

The guy is an arrogant d*ck. He personally called me after I asked a question at an event to chew me out for asking a question he didn't like. I would think a busy executive would have better things to do, but nah, he made time to put the little person in their place. Reported him to the Ethics Line for intimidation. Beware.

Diversity (DEI) is modern slavery idea. Hire them to do dirty job. Saul is european, follows charlie and carry his tourch to finish line ( reduce head count) . TK is another one in the IT. HR lady is another one in this count.You all the victims.

Saul brought in Service Now into Wells. This is to implement banking processes without "coding". He is probably bringing in AI generated banking models into the "firm" right now.
The side effect of this strategy will be the elimination of the current IT tech base and then the management hierarchy. This transformation will be done to increase "efficiency".
SVB is Dutch. The Dutch have a lot of quirks. One of them is putting public urinals in their streets (https://dutchreview.com/dutch-quirks/dutch-quirk-35-put-public-urinals-in-busy-streets/) Basically SVB is putting a urinal on the Wells stagecoach. So get used to seeing SVB p-e.

Management filling their time with conferences and travel, hiring contractors full time after 90 days on board while never interviewing internal candidates and making everyone meets while their JPM and Citi crews get promoted after their first year. Why wouldn't they follow whoever allows this nonsense to happen? They are gonn make their bucks in bonus or stock options while taking money away from others.

All these changes, offshoring, cost cutting, reorganizations, layoffs, hiring all his cronies, and the stock keeps falling. These guys are an effing joke. Doing a bunch of nonsense with nothing to show.

Who's a bigger butttt kisser to Scharty, SVB or Sn-t Powell?

@nlz

100%. It's all been mapped out and timetable is set, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

If CS needed to vacate early for any reason, timeline would be moved up and SVB would be CEO even earlier.

He is being groomed as the next CEO. My prediction is he will be the CEO in 2026.

@zhp

Oh, give it time. It took a while for my tech colleague to see it (she sees everything through rose-colored glasses). Now she despises him. I've never heard her talk about anyone else that way.

Everyone falls for his schtick in the beginning. Then they realize he's no different than the rest.

Don't let his "vision" fool you (between sips of coffee and sweet stories about his upbringing and homeland).

He was an absolute bust. He was sly, though, in picking someone worse as his replacement.

Disagree strongly. Saul is a very strong communicator and visionary - I haven’t really felt like we’re building toward some sort of competitive strategy like this (win by growing the right way - strategy 2026) since stumpf and crew were here. Say what you want about that crew but they at least had a vision. Management had been floundering since 2016 until Saul got here.

And you are surprised by this? Saul was a bust as a CIO. He was absurd to recommend TK as a replacement. He is just bad all around.
