Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Contradictions

Charlie wants everyone back in office in september because

"We believe most of us benefit by being physically together," Scharf and Powell said.

Stop and think.

They have over 60000 people now physically located in india.

If "physically together" was such a good idea, and they believed in it themselves, why do they keep hiring staff in india to sit in india?

Absurd.

Why this push for back in office?

Layoffs.

Their plan is to continue disrupting lives and uprooting families....this creates attrition. Charlie and Powell want attrition because it helps the stock price go up...they can hire $6.00 per hour indian nationals in india to replace you.

They want you uncomfortable - abandoning your ailing mom or dad, taking your kids out of local schools and community, to force you to make a choice between your community and family or a bank job.

Watch and see....

Oh, and what is Wells peers doing?

Living in the 21st century using zoom calls and leaving people where they are because happy people make better workers.

Wells is taking the opposite approach.

Dont forget to submit your proxy vote before april 10th. Vote no on Charlies payraise and yes on every single amendment.

The worst thing is charlie isn't even on the west coast, much less in the office collaborating.

The post you're responding to was my first one in this thread, so your 'i don't like that you're whining about whining' response is misdirected, I was pointing out the clear logical fallacy of what has become a common refrain here. In any event, the only thing that has been "kicked" or "bullied" is said fallacy. That is, unless we're officially in a place where the truth is "bullying" now. That's a notion that seems to water down or minimize the horrible impact of actual bullying, but hey if that's how you roll, freedom of speech and all.

Sorry, it OP’s post is completely nonsensical. Read it a few times.... all over the map. Must be a scary place in that empty noggin.

Your “reasoning skills” are that of a schoolyard bully.

You are being a troll whining and complaining about people who are having a difficult time during layoffs. On a Layoff site. Who are you going to kick next - the elderly? People with cancer? Try being kind and see if your life improves.

Well, that escalated quickly.

It's not "whining" to point out that someone is whiney. If Felicia is laughing in the break room and you turn to your coworker and say "hey Bob, Felicia is laughing", does that mean that you are also laughing? If Felicia is crying are you also crying? If she's yelling are you also yelling? No, you're just pointing out a fact. I really wonder about you guys and your reasoning skills sometimes.

FYI - We are all equally tired of you crying and moaning about people crying and moaning. You are toxic in your own way and you know it.

Not sure why expecting a company to progress and evolve faces such backlash. Of course we can find new jobs, but it seems a little silly that’s the only solution.

I find it ironic that you are whining about people whining.

Additionally, I’ll respect you viewpoint on offshoring as soon as you walk away from your job in order that a hardworking appreciative foreign worker may do your job better than you for less. Until you personally are affected, your opinion doesn’t mean squat.

This is a ridiculous 'analysis'. It's not literally all 260,000 being physically together, it's functional teams. There's no difference between such a team being in India, or SF, or Des Moines, it's the digital age as you said. One other thing I'll add, people keep talking about wages being lower in India, and that's true they are, but workers there are also less whiney, less quick to run to HR/lawyers for every single alleged 'slight', and generally less entitled. I'm guessing that your average Indian worker doesn't think they should be the CEO once their initial training is complete. I'm guessing that they work hard, appreciate the job, and spend a lot less time whining. There was a time when the US was like that also, and the results were incredible. In any case, there's a lot more to it than wages. I mean, you can find much lower wages in places outside of India and the Philippines.

Our peers also have fewer employees than us. We should be like them and reduce our workforce.

Good god what a baby. What did you do before this scamdemic? Why people cry and moan about a job they can leave anytime amazes me. Move on before you infect others.

Since when is Salesforce a peer of ours?

"Return-to-office prospects are getting clearer more than a year after Wall Street sent employees home to stop the spread of the coronavirus. At JPMorgan Chase & Co., hundreds of interns are set to work in the lender’s New York and London offices in the coming months. Citigroup Inc. will begin inviting more workers back to its offices in July and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. told its incoming class of summer interns that they’ll be able to work from the company’s offices."

Not only are there many sitting in India but teams go across multiple cities. The agile excuse is just that, an excuse to force this old time policy on the workforce.

Millennials will avoid this place like the plague, because they expect WFH flexibility in the digital age. Who do they say they want to hire? Contradictions indeed.

I have voted against every WFC recommendation for years. It doesn’t yield change, yet gives me satisfaction.

I smile to their faces and vote against them behind their backs, just like they do to us every day.

Or... You could put on your big boy pants and be responsible for your own destiny. It's up to you to do whatever you need to take care of those things, not some faceless entity. Worried? Pound some pavement and get a new gig. Time to grow up.
