Why are people still working for Phillips 66. No one is making any one of us to stay!

Many people are resilient and, after dedicating years of hard work and loyalty to a company, at least hope to receive a severance package if layoffs happen. Instead, they're often left feeling completely disrespected, while those who master office politics climb the ladder by taking credit for the accomplishments of others before eventually moving on. Phillips 66 used to be a great place to work until COVID. After that came the endless so-called "transformations" that steadily eroded the workplace and made it a much worse environment for employees. For many dedicated professionals, advancement became nearly impossible when integrity, competence, and hard work were valued less than self-promotion. Unfortunately, this company isn't the only one operating this way. I'm actually glad to see younger generations refusing to tolerate these practices. Maybe one day companies will stop complaining that they can't attract or retain young talent and finally realize that they destroyed their own credibility through their actions.
@yz does it need to happen in the middle of a work day to parade in front of peers and friends? Ya its a sc-mmy move and you are probably one of the sc-ms doing it

My thoughts exactly! Outsourcing is not the answer! For example, look how they handled things in 2024 with the server team, eliminating so many from that team because they couldn't accept their own mistakes by pushing so much into costly vmware. Then they later switched over to nutanix. The people who created the vmware mess should have been fired instead!
@yz, I blame Go Go and Tractor Man for laying off employees off people to begin with.
There are better ways to “Transform”.
Ways that actually work and don’t cause heartache and bitterness toward the company.
@qd Yes it is sad to see some one get escorted out as a criminal, but do you really blame the company for protection them selfies and others? Or do you blame the people that go’s through and hits the shutdown switches at operating units or a computer person starts deleting databases? So who is the blame?
Place is pretty bad. Leaving will set you free. Worked in tractor man’s org and he’s a snake. Be very careful around the leadership. Mostly incompetent but what’s worse is they make moves for anything but the right reason
When you see a person walked out by security like a criminal after giving 25 years of their life to the company but it was decided they dont have a box

@k2 worried? What's that going to accomplish? It's a job keep your head down do your work and collect your paycheck and benefits until the music stops and you don't have a chair. If you are valuable to an organization you might find the music keeps playing much longer than you anticipated.
I’d be worried if I worked at the Bartlesville office. It keeps shrinking every year, and the smaller daytime crowds downtown make that pretty obvious.
Some pretty wild stories from the layoffs earlier this year too!
It isn’t that bad unless you are one that has been targeted by management. Again, you are fine if you just keep your head down and stay silent, or if you get on your knees for the management team…
If you can live with yourself doing those things, I guess you will enjoy Phillips 66. If you want to make a difference, fix things, and live with integrity it is a tough environment as you will be punished for speaking up and trying to do the right thing.
I've invested way too much of my time, effort and energy to give up on a Company that is one or two new executives away from being amazing again. Besides, the grass is not always greener on the other side.
It's bad enough I apply to jobs in a desultory fashion, but not bad enough for me to be actively hustling for a new job.
Job market isn’t ideal. Pay and benefits aren’t what they used to be but they also aren’t so bad. And the corporate junk will probably be there no matter where you go.
