Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike’s 1-2 Year Outlook

Over the next 1-2 years, here's what to expect: Nike will issue further lowered revenue guidance for FY25 during the upcoming earnings call. This will lead to shareholders completely losing confidence in the current C-suite, causing the stock price to drop to 2016 levels (around the $50-60 range). Executive changes will follow as new leaders are appointed and begin restructuring the organization, including more rounds of layoffs. The company will acknowledge the need for a marketplace reset, which will involve scaled-back revenue targets and cost-cutting measures to align with those revised projections.

The next couple of years are likely going to be one of Nike’s most challenging periods, so prepare accordingly.

Bad leadership did this. It's upsetting.

@zdg+1uuPGqAI Consider investing in Adidas or On instead of Nike. They’re making strong moves in key categories that position them for sustainable growth. Unlike Nike, they didn’t get heavily involved in the 'woke agenda' or restructure their management just for the sake of diversity. Instead, they have capable leaders in the right roles, including former Nike veterans.

There is a big chance that stock might popup after they announce CEO changes. Rumor in the media is that it might happen during November Investors Meeting.
But my expectation is that it will be short-lived.
None of the problems are fixed. The new strategy is a “catching up with the competitors” strategy. Nike is not leading anymore, not setting the trends (not in product, not in marketing, not in innovation, way of doing business, retail, digital, you name it).
And according to the article in Bloomberg, the LT is clueless how to fix it. They rely on Bain consultants.
It will take more than a couple of years to fix the problems, given that the new CEO will be from the young consumers centric business.
That’s why I ceased my participation in ESPP. I have better places to invest my savings.

Agree. And it might be the end of Nike. Slow death. Something like Intel is going through now. Lost the battle to the competitors like NVDA. But it used to be THE company in semiconductors. The diamond of the US manufacturing.
It is so fu**ing sad…
