Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

10 Person Max Restriction

Since President Trump announced a 10 person max gathering restriction. Will Verizon abide by this? What measures will be taken? Will managers be by the front door to limit the people in store? Will employees count towards the 10?

We had customers come in yesterday saying friends that they were with this weekend tested positive for corona. At this point it’s not funny anymore. It’s now a safety issue for employees

Easier said than done amigo. You got an 89 year old with Parkinson’s trying to navigate their phone during an upgrade...just one example.

@ymi+141KKVJN Don't touch customer phones. You should always have the customer navigate the device, we should be guiding them through any processes.

At the least we could have some f—ing gloves. My store has 10 employees working at a time. It amazes me that they think shortening the hours will do anything. Now all the employees will work together which equals more people in store. Not to mention my store is a mile from an Apple store so now we are getting more people from them. We should be closed. But at least give us some damn gloves. Customer phones are disgusting

In certain parts of the country it does include businesses. San Diego county issued a legally enforceable health mandate stating “All businesses shall enact social distancing, increased sanitation standards, and shall make every effort to use telecommuting for its workforce. All businesses shall suspend any policy or procedure requiring doctor verification for sick or other leave approval“ I’m unsure how Verizon will enact social distancing in a smaller store. These go into effect 12am Tuesday.

That requirement doesn't apply to businesses. Only applies to weddings, sports, boy scouts etc. It should include Verizon, but it doesn't. I do agree all retail, call centers and any front line employees should be sent home. Wishing everyone to be safe during these difficult times.

When was the last time more than 10 customers were in a store? Common.

We are all fortunate to work for a company willing to pay during closures. 2.0 is about listening and evolving together.

We have 8 or 9 employees working a day right now, so we can’t even help the same number of people to what we have working, let’s all stand around while we help the 2 people we allow in a time, absolutely ludicrous - close already!!!

Supposedly HQ is working on what the plan is right now. Our website is all about the virus response and it’s highlighting all you can do with the app. I think they are taking it seriously and I’m expecting us to close retail either tomorrow or Wednesday.
